On June 15th Save the Harbour presented a 7000 signature petition to Denise Savoie, the Federal MP, Maureen Kariaganis, the Provincial MLA and Dean
Fortin, the Mayor. The presentation was extremely well attended by the public.

A word from Brian...
I'm off to the west coast this week to
host an Ocean River West Coast kayak
tour in Kyuquot Sound.
My group of clients will meet me in Gold River, as we all meet for the first time
over dinner in a local tavern.
I
know that I will enjoy every minute of
the adventure as I sincerely
hope my
guests will. New friendships will be
forged as the trip will
gently change
the way we look at life and nature.
I'll come back to work in 10 days and
will remember why I love getting people
out there - because we live in such an amazing place.
See you all in mid July and I hope you
all get out there, no matter how.

STAND UP PADDLE
FREE DEMO Wed. July 15

Come to try out this new sport - Stand UP Paddling. It is the closest thing to walking on water. Standing on a big surf board and paddling it, is both fun and a great workout.
Our new lines of boards are from Starboard and Naish are some of the finest boards on the market.
We have demo boards and have reserved this special night, with some of our experienced Stand Up Paddlers, to help you learn how to get started.

Because of the late release of last months newsletter we are extending the contest into July.
The theme remains the same, any photo of you
(or someone else) getting out there paddling.
The only stipulation is your photo must
include paddlers in it. The photos will
then be posted on our website at www.oceanriver.com/photo_contest.htm
and will
be voted on by you.
The deadline to send
in your photo is July 15th, with voting taking place for the rest of
the month.
The winner will be announced
in the August Newsletter, and featured on our website.
