A Word from Brian
Getting out into the outdoors and enjoying
it is so important for all of us, however, the wildness is fragile and in needs of all of us
to take care of it.
I was inspired in late April by a public meeting
at Vic High (my old school). This meeting
was to express opposition to the Proposed
Victoria International Marina that is
proposed for the Victoria Harbour. It was a
great turnout with approximately 400 people attending.
This meeting was called and organized by a
number of good and concerned people
including ex-mayor Peter Pollen. Thank you
to everyone who attended and especially
those who spoke so eloquently about why
this development is not appropriate in size or location for our treasured harbour.

We have been working for months to re-design and add important features to oceanriver.com
Tides, currents and weather links as well as a large amount of information for the kayaker such as how to choose a kayak and boat design articles as well as a blog to keep us in touch with our customers. The new site is designed to be easier to navigate and enjoy.
