A Word from Brian
Spring is here, and tons of boats are coming into our warehouse so we will be ready for the Big Gear Up Sale on the 21st and 22nd. There will be some amazing deals to be had. Looking forward to seeing you there.
To prime everyone for Gear Up, the Reel Paddling Film festival is now being reviewed by our film critics (our staff) and we will have a good selection of the best of the festival to share with everyone on March 11&12.
As we prepare for our season, we could not be in better shape with new lines, great products coming in, good deals and a wonderful lineup for staff again this year.
Gary at the Adventure Centre has new models of boats in the fleet and people seemed a bit pent up and wanting to get out there.
Lastly, I wish to thank everyone who has contributed to bringing focus on the proposed marina project, thank you. The Paddler's Rally, that will happen on March 7th, should be huge. Check out the details in this newsletter and come and join us.
Happy Paddling,
Brian |

Calling for Used Fleece & Outdoor Jackets/Coats
|
|
Do you have any items of used outdoor clothing that you would like to donate to people in need?
In March, 29 teens from Stelly's Secondary School will be traveling to the impoverished high Andes Communities surrounding Urubamba Peru, to build their 4th school.
"The people in these communities are very poor, and are often chilled in rainy weather. Donations of used fleece and goretex are very much appreciated. We will take your donations right to those in need." says Tim Storm, Teacher of the Stelly's School Global Perspectives Program.
Global Perspectives has been running at Stelly's School for 10 years, and students have also built a hospital wing in Belize, Family Shelter in Cuba, and refurbished an orphanage in Haiti.
Your donations can be brought directly to the front office at Stelly's Secondary School (across from the Saanich Fair), or to Ocean River Sports.
Thank you for your help.
