OCUL Announces Name Change to
Credit Union Association of Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Credit Union League, the state trade association for Oklahoma credit unions, last week announced to the attendees of its 75th Annual Meeting it would be changing its name to the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma (CUAOk). The change will begin to take effect immediately and be complete upon the association's move of its headquarters to Oklahoma City this summer. "The use of the term 'League' has a long and rich history with credit union associations so it was a difficult decision," said Debra J. (DJ) Morrow Ingram, President/CEO of CUAOk. "But as the credit union movement has grown, it has become necessary for credit unions and their trade associations to become more astute in advocacy and reach out to the media and consumers in general. "The word 'association' is more commonly understood as it relates to what we do which isn't changing - we are here to help credit unions serve their members better." CUAOk will continue to represent and be a voice for Oklahoma credit unions, promote their growth and unity. CUAOk is focused on three primary areas of service: advocacy, compliance and regulatory services and education.
