People and Credit Unions in the News
FAA Credit Union Helps Wildfire Victims |
After the massive number of wildfires broke out in their community on April 9, the employees of FAA Credit Union decided they wanted to help. By noon the following day, the 140 credit union employees and volunteers had collected enough funds to fill three shopping carts full of essentials for the victims. This included items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, diapers, baby wipes, bottled water, and batteries. They were also able to make an additional monetary donation to the Red Cross. All of the supplies were delivered to a local shelter, which was distributing the items to those in need.
Steve Rasmussen, President and CEO, comments; "When it comes to helping others, our employees are always more than generous. Many of them had family and friends who were affected by the devastating fires and wanted to help in any way they could. We were impressed with the amount of money they donated in such a short amount of time. We were able to get the supplies purchased and delivered within twenty-fours hours of the fires."
