Legislative Briefing and Congressional Reception
 
The Oklahoma Credit Union League Legislative Briefing and Congressional Reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 24 at Credit Union House near Capitol Hill. We will hold the briefing immediately followed by the Congressional Reception on the Third Floor which offers a view of the Capitol.

Accounting Bulletin Available for Credit Unions
The National Credit Union Administration has posted an accounting bulletin for credit unions that addresses the corporate credit union stabilization plan, according to the agency's deputy executive director.  NCUA's Larry Fazio told the more than 3,000 participants of a Credit Union National Association's last Wednesday audio conference that the accounting bulletin is available on the agency Web site.
 
New CUNA audio conference: Corporates and What Lies Ahead
The Credit Union National Association will offer an in-depth look at the corporate credit union stabilization plan and what lies ahead for the credit union movement, in an upcoming second audio conference on the issues.
 
The free Feb. 18 information session, for CUNA-affiliated credit unions, will provide an overview of recent developments, CUNA's assessment of each, and the group's estimation of what is ahead for credit unions.

Oklahoma City - The Credit Unions for Kids committee presented a $145,000 donation check to Children's Miracle Network on Feb 3, 2009. 
Tiff OCUL logo"We are extremely pleased with this record breaking amount," said Vic Thate, Executive Vice President of FAA Credit Union.  "Despite the challenging economy, our members continued to support our fundraising efforts, allowing us to keep our commitment of raising money to save the lives of Oklahoma's children."
 
Credit Unions for Kids is proud to be the national sponsor of Children's Miracle Network.  In 1997, Oklahoma Credit Unions began raising money to improve the quality of pediatric research in our state.  In the last 11 years, members have increased the combined donation from $15,000 to $145,000.

CUNA Mutual Group Retirement Plan Services has been ranked No. 1 in the overall categories for "Recordkeeping/Administration" and "Investment Services" in the 2008 401kExchange survey of 401(k) plan sponsors.
 
CUNA Mutual has provided services to small retirement plans for more than 50 years and has been recognized as a top provider in surveys completed by 401kExchange and Boston Research Group since the surveys began in 2001.
 
401kExchange surveyed more than 16,000 plan sponsors with total plan assets less than $1 million and more than 25,000 plan sponsors with assets in the $1 million to $10 million range.  In both asset ranges, CUNA Mutual received the highest percentage of favorable (4 and 5) ratings for the two categories.

OCUL Seeks VP, Compliance & Governmental Affairs
The Oklahoma Credit Union League currently has a position available for a Vice-President, Compliance & Governmental Affairs. This position will oversee all of the OCUL's dues-supported regulatory and compliance initiatives and services, and is responsible for the preparation and management of the budget for this division of Advocacy.  Responsibilities also include regulatory advocacy before federal and state regulators, and functions as the lead legislative counsel/analyst during Oklahoma state legislative sessions.
