Texas and Oklahoma Leagues
Announce Service Partnership The Oklahoma and Texas Credit Union Leagues unveiled a unique services agreement that leverages economies of scale in talents and operations for memberships on both sides of the Red River. The arrangement was overwhelmingly accepted by the boards of both leagues. "The Oklahoma League Board and I are proud to announce that the partnership with the Texas League has been formalized," stated Debra J. (D.J.) Morrow Ingram, president and CEO of the Oklahoma League. "We believe this allows our staff to focus on key membership strategies such as legislative and regulatory relations, compliance, public relations, and assistance to credit unions by reinstating the positions of league representatives. Additionally, thru the partnership with the Texas league, we look forward to enhancing chapter relations, small credit union development, and the Oklahoma Credit Union Foundation." "By calling upon the resources of the Texas League for back office operations, as well as support for other functions, we maximize the human and financial resources of our league and our members' investments in us," says DJ Morrow Ingram. "This allows us to focus on delivering the very best services available to our membership."

FinCEN Broadens CTR Exemptions
Resource: CUNA News Now
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network has simplified its rules for depository institutions to exempt eligible members or customers from currency transaction reporting as required under the Bank Secrecy Act.
"These regulatory changes will make it easier for financial institutions to take better advantage of exemptions from CTR filing requirements for certain classes of customers, while continuing to report valuable information to law enforcement," said FinCEN Director James Freis in a release.
"FinCEN also made improvements to our proposed rule based on valuable industry feedback received during the comment period," Freis added. FinCEN's plan to simplify the regulatory exemption requirements is primarily based on recommendations from a Governmental Accountability Office study on the current CTR exemption regime.
The Credit Union National Association backed FinCEN's improvements and called them "a good first step for a more efficient and effective reporting structure under BSA."
