The April meeting for the Boomer Sooner Chapter has been scheduled for April 17 at the Sportman's Country Club in Oklahoma City. Cocktails will be served at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. The program for the evening will be State of the League with speaker DJ Morrow Ingram, President/CEO of OCUL. The Boomer Sooner Chapter of Credit Unions will hold its golf tournament benefiting CMN / Credit Unions for Kids at Lincoln Park and Golf Complex on Monday, July 14, 2008. The tournament will begin with a shotgun morning tee off. Full details will be forthcoming as Chapter Officers meet to work out all the details of this year's tournament. The Chapter will be fielding golfers to help Children's Hospital for the 11 consecutive year. |

Updated Business Continuity Planning Booklet Released |

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council recently issued an updated guidance booklet for effective business continuity planning. The guidance is an update to the "Business Continuity Planning Booklet," which was issued in March 2003. The revised booklet includes enhancements to the business impact analysis and testing discussions, and addresses emerging threats and lessons learned in recent years. The booklet also stresses the responsibilities of each institution's board and management to address business continuity planning with an enterprise-wide perspective by considering technology, business operations, communications and testing strategies for the entire institution.

2008 Regulatory Review List For CUs |

The Credit Union National Association is asking credit unions to review their federal regulator's recently published 2008 Regulatory Review List to identify particular operational or compliance problems.
Each year, the National Credit Union Administration examines one-third of its regulations as part of this annual review process. The NCUA's Office of General Counsel maintains the schedule that identifies the agency regulations up for review each year.

CU CEO's Wary Of Future Economic Conditions |
Credit union leaders are increasingly expressing their concern
about the negative state of the economy. In fact, according to Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union's most recent CU CEO Confidence Survey, the first quarter 2008 index registered the lowest confidence level yet in the survey's four-year history.
Survey figures were the lowest recorded, in every area but one. The exception was CEOs' expectation for share deposit growth in six months.
