Lydia from Salem asks:  My daughter has spotty acne - what can she do to help her skin?

Acne is very common in teenagers.  It is important to develop a cohesive action plan and a proper home care regimen, preferably with products that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.  This will help remove the oils and impurities that stimulate bacteria. However, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide can also be so overly drying that the skin responds by producing even more oils!  This is why seeing your esthetician and having the proper guidance regarding your proper use of home care products is so important!  We often recommend the Obagi Clenziderm M.D. System:

(Clenziderm M.D. Daily Care Foaming Cleanser, Clenziderm M.D. Pore Therapy, and Clenziderm M.D. Therapeutic Lotion - Benzoyl 5%)
