Gender Reassignment Surgery - Cosmetic?  

What do the Wells Fargo, Coca-Cola and Walt Disney corporations have in common? They are among the 80 or so large corporations in the U.S. that provide insurance coverage for gender reassignment surgery for their transgender employees. Most insurers still classify gender reassignment surgery, as well as many other plastic surgery procedures, as purely "cosmetic", elective in nature and therefore not covered. What do you think - are these types of procedures "cosmetic" ?
