Big Earthquake... Little Damage

|
Hello ,
As you all have probably heard by now, last Sunday there was an earthquake in Mexicali, Mexico.
According to a report by the Christian Science Monitor...
"Sunday night's 7.2 Mexicali earthquake was the most powerful to hit the area in decades, but damage was limited compared with the recent tragedies in Haiti and Chile."
The amount of news created by the United States media would have you believe that this quake leveled all of northern Mexico. Not true.
The real truth is that unless you were at the center of the quake the damage was almost nonexistent. There were only 2 deaths; one from a ceiling falling on a man, and one that could have been avoided. It happened when a man panicked and ran out into the street and was killed by a car.
There was no reported damage or injury in Rosarito and many people did not realize that there was a quake. That Sunday was a beautiful day in Rosarito and the town was full of tourists and residents strolling up and down the main street. The quake did not stop anyone from having a nice
day.
The fishing village of Popotla was an attraction because of Easter weekend festivities that take place there, with people coming from all over to take part.
It is beautiful here in
Mexico and we want you to come down and enjoy our great country.
