Greetings!
July brings a relief from the stresses of the difficult
June Transits.
It is good news all around. Jupiter turns direct, Mars
goes into Leo. The planet to watch this month is
Mercury that goes retrograde on 5th.
Guru Purnima, the Full Moon dedicated to Divine Teachers is on 10th July |
 |
Gu means darkness, Ru means Dispel,
eliminate. Guru means the one who dispels the
darkness of ignorance. Guru is the spiritual teacher
who shows the aspirant the path to higher
knowledge. He brings light to his disciple by showing
them the means to find the eternal happiness.
Spiritual gurus are seen as a link between the
individual and the divine. Gurus open the eyes of the
aspirant to their higher self while they, the aspirants
may have been
struggling in darkness and ignorance. Gurus are
considered the living
form of God therefore honoured and respected for
centuries more than any other person as only the
Guru can show the aspirant a path back to the divine
and bring them from darkness to light.
Annually the full Moon in the month of Ashadha is
celebrated as the day to honour the Guru.

Vakri Grahas - Retrograde Planets |
 |
The Sanskrit name for retrograde planets is
Vakri. Vakri means twisted, crooked, winding,
roundabout, indirect, evasive and ambiguous. Vakra
Asana in Yoga twists the body from back to front.
Usually this asana are done to strengthen the spine
and make them flexible. The potential of the
retrograde planets is to be flexible, to twist thing
around, to make them unclear, to teach their
message in an indirect way, to view life in a different
way to
others. By understanding their influence correctly one
can be strong by being more adaptable, original,
innovative and different. On the negative side an
individual can be twisted thinkers, crooked and
dishonest. You can deal with the quality of your
retrograde planets in a positive manner or can use
their potential in a totally negative way.

Nadi Granthas and Palm Leaf Astrology |
 |
Nadi in Sanskrit means the pulse, the subtle
channels in the body, a division of time (24 minutes).
In Tamil, the language of Tamil Nadu, Nadi means in
search of. To be in search of the past, the reason of
existence, to search the roots and essence of the
past. In Yoga and Ayurveda, Nadi are the subtle
channels that give message to the different parts of
the body plus the Ida, Pingala and Sushumna nadi.
Grantha is a great book of knowledge.
Nadi Granthas or the great books of subtle
knowledge, are recordings of the Sapta Rishi.
Sapta means seven and Rishi means
Sages. Brahma conceived the Seven Great Sages out
of his mind to help in his creation of the world. They
were Bhrigu, Angira, Atri, Vishvamitra, Kashyapa,
Vashishta, and Agastya. They knew the key to
creation and the destiny of each and every individual
born and yet to be born. What is their purpose? Why
they were born? What karma they bring into their
life? These Granthas were not written as predictions
but as records of life and information on secret
knowledge.
