Narrow Ribbon Adapter
When we talk of the Narrow Ribbon Adapter, we are referring to the little square plastic piece that originally came with your machine. If by chance you've lost it, you can order another one here. There are two uses for the narrow ribbon adapter. It was initially created to print on ribbon narrower than an inch ... hence the name. But it is also very helpful in positioning ribbon to get the most out of your foils. Here's how to do both:

Positioning under the Right Ribbon Guide

You may have noticed that the right white ribbon guide in the bottom of your printer will not move fully to the left. Therefore you cannot print flush left on your foil with ribbon less than one inch in width. There is a way around this by using the Narrow Ribbon Adapter. Position the adapter under the right ribbon guide as shown. This will allow you to create a firm channel through which your ribbon will flow. Note on the black foil below, you are able to use the portion closest to the edge with this method.

Adapter - Right

Positioning under the Left Ribbon Guide

When you position the adapter under the left ribbon guide, your ribbon is shifted slightly to the right. Create your design as you normally would, enter in the ribbon width, etc. Then when you go to print, tick the radio button that says you are using the adapter. This indicates to the printer to shift the printing to the right so it lands perfectly on your ribbon. This technique can be used for all widths of ribbon allowing you to access all areas on your foils.

Please let us know if there are specific topics you'd like to see covered. This is your space to ask, learn, and share.

Happy Printing!
