Greetings!

Publisher Laura Alden

Welcome to our first edition of The Publisher's Point. Every couple of weeks, Judson Press publisher Laura Alden will share a brief update or commentary on a topic related to the church, Christian books and publishing, or related cultural trends. We hope you'll look forward to these updates and share them with your friends and colleagues.

How Churches Are Encouraging Discipleship and Spiritual Formation

Thanks to those American Baptist leaders who participated in the recent research project, "How Churches Are Encouraging Discipleship and Spiritual Formation." The project, sponsored by the Protestant Church-Owned Publishers Association of which Judson Press is a member, received surveys from more than 2,300 congregations from 15 different denominations. LifeWay Research conducted the survey on our behalf.

We are happy to provide you with "snapshots" of the survey results which address:

  • Desired outcomes of ministries of discipleship for children, youth, and adults
  • Integrating video and technology in teaching
  • Today's Sunday school curriculum resources
  • Approaches to spiritual development
  • And more

View these files here, and then let us know what you think:

  1. How do these results compare with your congregation's reality?
  2. How can we help each other in growing as disciples of Jesus Christ?

Add your comments to the notes on our Facebook page, or send me an email. We look forward to hearing from you.
