A few years ago, Kellie was a non-Catholic member of Glenmary's Chapmanville, W.Va., mission, who attended Sunday Mass faithfully with her Catholic husband, David. Today, because someone invited her, Kellie is a practicing Catholic.
What happened in her life was simple but powerful: Dolores, a friendly fellow parishioner, asked Kellie if she'd like to learn more about the Catholic Church, and she quickly said yes. Dolores soon became her sponsor; Glenmary Father Tom Charters became her RCIA teacher. And Kellie happily entered the Church at the mission's next Easter Vigil.
Stories of people's journeys to the Catholic faith----each with its own unique circumstances----can be told every year at Glenmary missions. Again in 2011, a number of folks are preparing to join the Catholic Church at Easter.
I want to thank you on behalf of Kellie and all the others, past and future, for your ongoing support. Because of your generosity, people in our mission areas who are interested in becoming Catholics have friendly mission communities to welcome and invite them. And they have Glenmary missioners to help them on their journeys to a new spiritual home.
I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Easter season!
