PA's Shameful Pigeon Shoots - Enough is Enough!
Dear Friends,

We have received word that Wing Pointe located at 1414 Moselem Springs Road in Hamburg, PA the location of most of Pennsylvania's live pigeon shoots, is planning to hold another slaughter this Thursday, June 14.
Achilles - A victim of a PA pigeon shoots

After years of confusion and disagreement, Pennsylvania's Humane Society Police Officers are rallying behind the realization that they don't need a specific law banning the shoots - that current PA humane laws already prohibits such obvious cruelty and abuse.

Read for yourself Pennsylvania's Humane Statute 5511:(c) Cruelty to animals:

A person commits an offense if he wantonly or cruelly illtreats, overloads, beats, otherwise abuses any animal, or neglects any animal as to which he has a duty of care, whether belonging to himself or otherwise, or abandons any animal, or deprives any animal of necessary sustenance, drink, shelter or veterinary care, or access to clean and sanitary shelter which will protect the animal against inclement weather and preserve the animal's body heat and keep it dry.

I have long said that if Pennsylvania's humane community would join together, the shoots would end. Now we may be reaching that critical mass - a tipping point that will lead to an inevitable, compassionate conclusion to what has been a shameful stain on all of Pennsylvania. But we are not there yet, and this is where you and other caring people come in.

Now is the Time for Action!!!

I urge you - I beg you - to contact the commander of the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, 610-562-6885, and politely insist that his officers enforce Pennsylvania's Humane Law 5511. Please let us know of any response you receive from any of these authorities.
Fallout from the Erdman Pigeon Shoot Continues

IT AIN'T OVER UNTIL WE SAY IT'S OVER!!!

In many ways, the June 3 live pigeon shoot outside Gratz, Pennsylvania was just the latest in the long and shameful history of cruelty, cowardice and corruption in the Keystone State. The shooters enjoyed their killing under the protection of supposed law enforcement, specifically a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Ely (Ely is his last name), who stood and watched the slaughter and did absolutely nothing.

While hundreds and hundreds of violations to Pennsylvania humane laws occurred under Trooper Ely's watchful gaze, SHARK cameras captured evidence for one person of authority who isn't in the pocket of the NRA.

Johnna Seeton, a Pennsylvania Humane Society Police Officer has for decades documented the cruelty of pigeon shoots. She has lobbied for legislative action to end these slaughter parties. She has brought charges in numerous counties, only to have corrupt district attorneys or district judges allow the cruel lawbreakers walk.

Johnna has stated her intention to bring more citations. One individual, Rich Pieros of New Jersey, will face a charge for hitting a wounded pigeon that landed on top of his automobile. Mr. Pieros was apparently incensed that the victim wounded by his associates would dare to bleed on his property.

We posted a video of Mr. Pieros' cruel cowardice. But Johnna is just getting warmed up. She will also charge the Erdman Sportsmen's Club for holding the entire shoot.

Brave Pigeon Shooter - NOT!
Brave Pigeon Shooter - NOT!

After working for decades to pass a law that specifically bans pigeon and turkey shoots, it has become painfully obvious that the corrupting influence of the National Rifle Association will continue to violate the will of Pennsylvania taxpayers and voters.

More than two decades ago before there was SHARK, SHARK President Steve Hindi read the Pennsylvania Humane Law and said these shoots were illegal. SHARK will continue to press for enforcement of this humane law.

Kindest Regards,

Steve Hindi and Your SHARK Team
