SHARK Goes After South Carolina Pigeon Shoot February 9-12
|
|
DEAR FRIENDS,
The Broxton Bridge Plantation in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, is holding a massive pigeon shoot on February 9-12, 2012. SHARK will be there.
Broxton Bridge is a former slave plantation and current canned hunt club where you can slaughter hogs and deer, all in the safety and comfort of a fenced-in area. They'll even "clear out a shooting lane" to make killing that trophy buck that much even easier, because basically killing a non-wild deer in a backyard is too difficult for some. As bad as that is, the pigeon shoot that they will hold is truly monstrous, and will result in many thousands of dead and wounded pigeons. That's made them a target that we now have our sights on.
Not only will we take pictures of all the shooters, but we will follow up by identifying many of them and asking them, rather publicly, why they enjoy slaughtering animals in such a barbaric manner. We'll also be asking how they feel being associated with Gerry Varn, whose family has owned Broxton Bridge since the 1700s. Varn, who was quoted in a book published in 2001, told how slavery really wasn't bad because the slaves got "free health care," and spouted one conspiracy theory that a Jewish family started the Civil War. Our investigators are going to have a field day with this, so stay tuned as we expose the Broxton Bridge Plantation.
And it will all be because they killed pigeons for fun.

SHARK Goes After Wing Pointe February 18-19
|
|
We wouldn't want our "friends" at the Wing Pointe canned hunting club to feel that our targeting the South Carolina shoot means we've forgotten about them, so we will be at Wing Pointe February 18 and 19 for a two-day long pigeon shoot. We will also be prepared for any shoot held at the Philadelphia Gun Club those weekends, just as we are every weekend.
The more these low-lifes kill, the more we are determined to fight. The cruel, cowardly National Rifle Association supports these killers, and Pennsylvania's legislators are afraid of them, but SHARK thinks the whole cabal is lower than dirt, and we'll treat them like the filth they are.

Jordan Irving, leaving a PGC pigeon shoot
|
Speaking of the Philadelphia Gun Club (PGC), last Wednesday, SHARK hand delivered a letter to the homes and offices of the PGC's Officers.
These were: Chuck Travers, President, William F. Comly, Vice President, Karl Natriello, Secretary and Jordan Irving, Treasurer.
We left the letter for Travers and Comly at their homes, but put the letter right into the hands of both Irving and Natriello, who were at their offices. Natriello (we'll have an Operation Bright Light on him soon) was our first stop and he seemed very nervous and upset about our showing up.
 | Natriello is a chiropractor, and his office is an excellent spot for a protest that we intend to conduct very soon. . |
Background: In early 2010, the PGC sought permits to hold a marine event from the U.S. Coast Guard after SHARK put a boat legally in the water outside their property. We found the applications the PGC filled out for the marine events when we did a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) a year and a half ago. You can read those applications HERE. Under a new FOIA request to the Coast Guard, SHARK discovered the Coast Guard's response to those applications. This letter, which was sent to the PGC, was not only a denial of their request to get marine permits, but the then Chief of the Prevention Department for the Coast Guard stated specifically that "The proposed events [pigeon shoots] require the establishment of a safety zone because they have the potential to effect the safety of life and the environment on the navigable waters of the United States."
The PGC does not have a safety zone. Once we realized what we had, we wrote the following letter and delivered it to the PGC Officers.
We will keep you updated as things unfold. Here is the letter we delivered.

SHARK Owns the Philadelphia Gun Club
|
|
In one last bit of news today, someone at the PGC forgot to renew their website domain. Oops.
Click on www.pgc1877.org to see where it takes you now.
SHARK has owned the PGC in the water with our boats, on land with our cameras, and now we own them in cyberspace.
