Winning the War Against Pigeon Shooting
|
|
DEAR FRIENDS,
As SHARK has pressed the attack against pigeon shooting in Pennsylvania, using our Angel aircraft and brand new high-powered 800mm cameras, we've seen a dramatic decline in the number of people attending shoots. Pigeon shooters are cowards and fear the spotlight SHARK has shown on them with our videos, so they've stopped showing up at shoots. That's very good news for the birds.
Since last August, attendance at the Wing Pointe canned hunt dump has literally dwindled to a handful of shooters. Shoots that used to last all day now go for a fraction of the time. Thousand of lives have been saved.
Wing Pointe isn't the only shoot that has suffered; the Philadelphia Gun Club, located on the Delaware River, which has held shoots for more than 100 years, has been ground to a halt. They are so scared of our efforts that they built a massive wall around their property. It's one of the weirdest things you'll ever see, and most likely cost tens of thousands of dollars. Even with this they haven't had any shoots, but if they do, we are ready on a second's notice to be there.
 |
This is how desperate the Philadelphia Gun Club is to evade SHARK. We'll get them anyway.
|
While the PGC chose to hide behind a wall of giant underwear, other shooters have simply run away to a remote location in Dalmatia, PA, that they hoped we wouldn't find. But we found them anyway. Earlier this year, SHARK became aware that a small group of pigeon shooters had formed a corporation and bought property in order to hold live pigeon shoots. They call themselves the "Monte Carlo Berm Associates, Inc.," or "The Berm" for short.
When we got the tip about The Berm, SHARK's investigators went to work. We found who The Berm were, the property they bought, and even sent out a scouting mission to assess the situation on-site at a pigeon shoot last month.

|
Not surprisingly, The Berm cowards have set-up way off the road, and in the middle of another canned hunt dump called the Martz Game Farm and Gap View Hunting Preserve. The Martz family raises pheasants like chickens for slaughter by shotgun.
The Berm owners must have thought they had bought themselves the perfect, secret hideaway to commit cruelty, but they were wrong. This past Sunday, the full SHARK team went out in force to document a pigeon shoot at The Berm. As with Wing Pointe, The Berm shoot was small in number and short in time. We will soon release a video showing who these vile people are and what they do for fun.
There is much more to come, as we turn attention to specific legislators who are minions of the NRA and continue to support indefensible cruelty. Wherever the pigeon shooters are, we are. We will not stop until the war is won.
In the meantime, please consider helping SHARK win this battle by making a generous donation. The equipment and resources needed to fight this battle are enormous, but the dollars spent have paid off in real lives saved. You can donate online HERE. |
The Martz Game Farm Canned Pheasant Hunt / Manager Speaks
|
|
As we mentioned, the Berm pigeon shoot is nested within the Martz Game farm and canned hunting preserve.
On Saturday, the day before the pigeon shoot, Martz held a canned pheasant shoot. On Sunday, SHARK videotaped dozens of surviving pheasants wandering aimlessly around the property and on the roads, where they were almost hit by cars.
These cage-raised birds have no survival skills and had never flown more than the few feet from the ground to the netting above them. What was heartbreaking is that we saw surviving birds outside of the mass pheasant cages, seeking to get back in, as they had no way to feed themselves and were doomed to die of starvation otherwise. We'll have much more on the Martz's and the hideous slaughter they are responsible for in the future.

Martz game farm manager, Chris Lenker, doesn't seem to have a problem with dog fighting.
|
While at the Berm on Sunday, Martz farm manager, Chris Lenker, stopped by for a chat. I guess he thought he was being a smart guy - and then I asked him a simple question: How do you feel about dog fighting? You need to watch his response on our new video HERE.
It's amazing how both stupid and cruel some people can be.

SHARK's "Pigeon Shoot Hit and Run Update" Goes Viral
|
|
On October 31, 2011, SHARK released a video titled "Pigeon Shoot Hit and Run Update," which not only showed how a Wing Pointe employee got away with near-murder, but showed all of the assaults against SHARK personnel that have happened in PA, and how there is no justice to be found in the state that shamefully claims to be "Where America Starts."

Wing Pointe employee about to hit Steve Hindi. He got away with small fines. Only in Pennsylvania.
|
This video, and the injustice it shows, connected with the public and has gone viral. It's not only had more than 66,000 views on YouTube, but people have copied it and put it on other websites where it has received even more attention.
We are gratified that the public has taken to the message sent in this video.
Take Action:
Please contact the Philadelphia Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and politely ask that they launch an investigation into these acts of betrayal by law enforcement.
