SHARK President Takes Polygraph Exam to Get to the Truth

Statement from SHARK President Steve Hindi

On Friday, October 21, 2011, I voluntarily submitted to a polygraph examination regarding the incident when Robert Olsen, the Operations Manager of Carlton Pools, pulled a loaded gun on Janet Enoch and myself in Warminster, Pennsylvania. Carlton Pools is owned by Joseph Solana, Jr., who is also the owner of the Wing Pointe canned hunting club, which regularly holds live pigeon shoots. I not only submitted to the test, I paid for it.

I submitted to the test because Olsen and his accomplices told a very different story from Janet and myself. According to Olsen, I jumped in front of his car at the beginning of the protest. Janet and I said that Olsen intentionally used his vehicle as a weapon of intimidation, nearly hitting me as I stood on the sidewalk. My polygraph examination indicated that Janet and I were telling the truth.

At the end of the protest, Olsen reappeared, this time with two other Carlton Pools employees in his vehicle. Janet and I say Olsen pulled his vehicle in front of our minivan, facing the wrong way, to again try to intimidate us. Olsen completely denied that he drove to the wrong side of the road. Again, the polygraph indicated Janet and I were telling the truth.

Olsen and one of his accomplices claim that I hit Olsen with a closed fist. In fact, I merely gave Olsen a hard shove as Olsen was assaulting Janet. The polygraph test indicated that I was telling the truth.

This was not a case of investigators have trouble finding the truth. On the contrary, this was a case of investigators doing everything in their power to bury the truth.

As the 911 recording demonstrates, the police were very concerned when they learned that an individual was brandishing a gun on a public street, especially since they now had to confront the same individual. They were understandably concerned about the threat such an individual poses to themselves and the public at large.

While the cops were extremely concerned that a man had a gun that could be pointed at them, they seemingly weren't concerned at all that that man had actually pointed that gun at animal activists on a public street in broad daylight, and in the process endangered the public at large.

The Warminster investigation was headed by Warminster Police Detective James Boston. Boston had a special relationship with the pigeon shooters that would only become known later.

Boston did not talk to Stu Chaifetz, who witnessed some of Olsen's misdeeds.  Boston did not investigate our claim that Olsen twice used his vehicle to threaten and intimidate. Boston ordered the seizure of not only SHARK's video camera, but also our laptop computer, while neglecting to seize cameras used by Olsen and one of his accomplices.

Warminster is located in Bucks County, which like Berks County, is well known to us for its corruption. Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler has long been a friend of pigeon shooters, so it came as no surprise that Heckler's office and the Warminster Police, and especially Detective Boston worked very well together. Indeed, it was a case of brothers and sisters in sleaze.

As a result of the collaboration between Detective Olsen and District Attorney David Heckler, Robert Olsen received only two minor charges, while Ms. Enoch and I received a total of six charges. Olsen was then allowed to plead out to even lesser penalties.

If the one-sided investigation by Detective Boston was somewhat indicative that his unprejudiced role as a police officer was compromised, Boston's conduct, and the conduct of others in the Warminster Police on the day of court left no doubt whatsoever.

From the moment we walked into the courthouse on June 30, we witnessed the close, indeed cozy relationship the police had with the very people who had attempted to intimidate us, one of whom had pulled a loaded semi-automatic handgun on a public street in broad daylight.

We watched and listened as Officer Melissa Herman explained a problem she was having with her pool to the Carlton Pools thugs, and listened to them assure her that they could fix her problem. We watched as lead Detective Boston and other police officers similarly interacted with the thugs.

As if that weren't enough, Detective Boston and gunman Robert Olsen later took seats next to Stu Chaifetz outside the courtroom, where they proceeded to discuss various ways to kill animals.  Perhaps my descriptor of the "Twilight Zone" was a bit understated. The "Outer Limits" is probably more accurate. Too bad cameras weren't allowed in the courthouse.

When the cops and the Carlton Pools thugs took their little lovefest outside the courthouse, Janet Enoch sprung into action.
Wealthy businessman and pigeon shooter Joe Solana (left) and his employee gunman Robert Olsen hanging out with Detective Boston (light blue shirt and tie), at the Warminster Court hearing (Olsen's co-workers who were with him when he pulled the gun are in the background). Did the cops wash Solana's car along with the other service they performed for him that day?

She snapped shots of the disturbing collage of supposed law enforcement, pigeon shooters, and pigeon shoot minions. Welcome to Warminster, Pennsylvania.

Throw into that disturbing pot District Judge Daniel J.Finello, who was as prejudiced a judge as I have ever seen. Finello complained about the length of the trial. Finello claimed that the fact that Janet and I carried video cameras meant we were agitators. Finello claimed that our protest was somehow illegitimate because we didn't know where we were.
Lenker
"Judge" Dan Finello: Local hack politician. PA elects local judges who don't need to have any knowledge of the law. Finello fits that bill just right.

Finello found Janet guilty of a charge of harassment, when the only thing she did was to be assaulted by Robert Olsen. Did I say Judge Finello was prejudiced?  Perhaps add delusional.

In any legitimate place, Olsen would have been dealt with severely. There would have been an investigation into Olsen's repeated offensive behavior toward us that led up to the gun pulling. Olsen's cohorts would have been charged as accessories. That obviously is not what happened.

My polygraph examination was given by a professional examiner located in Pennsylvania, a former police officer now operating a private business. I never met the examiner before the day of the test, and have not spoken to him since. His one and only function was to give me an examination to determine whether I was telling the truth. The polygraph examiner determined that I was truthful.

I am not suggesting that the authorities should merely accept this test. I am saying that given this test result, they should test me on their machine, and they should test Olsen as well. I am suggesting that if the Warminster Police and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office represent anything more than a cesspool of corruption, they would have it no other way.

Unfortunately, I am virtually 100% certain that both the Warminster Police and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office will completely ignore the test results. The truth is the last thing they are interested in. These "authorities" have an agenda of protecting the bad guys, and they're going to stick to it.

It's really sad that truth, justice and the American way isn't to be found in the Warminster Police Department, Bucks County District Attorney's Office, or the courts, but rather, on a machine that was likely made in China. What does that say about our country?

On November 18th, Janet and I will be in the court of appeals to have this miscarriage of justice heard.  I can't wait.  Much more to come.

Make the Pigeon Shoot Ban a Priority!

It is vital that every Pennsylvania resident contact their state legislators and ask them to make the bill to ban pigeon shoots, SB626, a priority and be voted on.

Due to redistricting, your legislator may now be different than before. Please visit the PA Legislature site HERE to find out who your representatives are.

Winery Pulls Sponsorship of Gay Rodeo

On Oct 20, SHARK received the following email from Andrew Zollman (www.LGBTcompassion.org), regarding their efforts to have a San Francisco Winery withdraw their sponsorship of a gay rodeo:

Dear Animal Advocate,

The October 22, 2011 protest has been cancelled, as Winery SF has withdrawn its support of animal cruelty in rodeo:

"...I applaud your efforts against animal cruelty and in no way am a supporter of animal cruelty. ...we have discontinued our involvement with the Gay Rodeo as you requested." -(Kenneth) Bryan Kane, owner of Sol Rouge, LLC dba Winery SF.

We hope this will help us in our protests against other sponsors and supporters, who are mainly in The Castro neighborhood. We hope that you will join us in those protests.

Thanks,

We congratulate LGBTcompassion.org for this wonderful victory. This is an example of how activists can have an impact and help stop animal cruelty

Protest the New Jersey Black Bear Hunt

The Animal Protection League of New Jersey (APLNJ) and the BEAR Group are holding a protest against the New Jersey black bear hunt on Monday, November 14, 2011.  The protest will be at the NJ Fish & Wildlife headquarters at 501 East State Street, Trenton, NJ, from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. SHARK investigator Stu Chaifetz will be speaking at the protest.

This is Floppy, a bear that was shot and wounded in the 2003 NJ bear hunt.  Thanks to the care of NJ activists, who risked arrest to get her medical treatment, she survived her bloody wounds. Tragically, hundreds of other bears did not.

Last year, SHARK worked with APLNJ against the bear hunt, including holding a joint press conference that received a tremendous amount of news coverage.  SHARK investigated the financial ties between NJ Governor Chris Christie and a pro-hunting political organization. Our complaint against the hunting PAC and Christie is currently under investigation by the NJ Election Law Commission.

For parking or carpool info, please visit the BEAR Group website HERE

Kindest Regards,

Steve Hindi and Your SHARK Team
