Sheryl Crow feels the heat - and tries to buy her way out of supporting horse abuse!
Dear Friends,
When SHARK found out that Sheryl Crow, an outspoken supporter of wild horses, was going to perform at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo (where SHARK has documented serious abuse against wild horses and many other animals), we took action -and so did you.
Activists with Salt Lake Animal Advocacy Movement (SLAAM) confronting Sheryl Crow at a Whole Foods store. This type of strong, non-violent action is how each of us can make a difference!
Thanks to all of your efforts, Sheryl Crow, who tried to ignore this issue, has been feeling the pressure and released the following statement:
As part of my summer-long touring commitment with Kid Rock, I am playing the Cheyenne Frontier Days Festival in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I am aware of the contrasting and very passionate opinions that people have about this event, and rodeos in general. In recognition of these differences, and out of my love for wild horses, a portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to The Cloud Foundation http://www.thecloudfoundation.org/, an organization dedicated to the preservation of wild horses on public lands. - Sheryl
First, let's remind you what happens to horses at the CFD. SHARK took this picture last year.
So Cheryl Crow will promote a rodeo and take money earned in part from abusing wild horses and donate some of it to wild horses? And that's supposed to ease her conscience - or buy some good publicity? We don't think so.
What You Can Do:
1. Please post comments on the blog pages where her statement was posted exposing her hypocrisy. Please remember to keep the comments polite.
3. Please e-mail Sheryl Crow's Manager, Pam Wertheimer and politely let her know what you think of Sheryl supporting the rodeo.

Racism, economic deprival, dog fighting and cock fighting, bullfighting and rodeos are all cut from the same fabric: violence.
