Greetings!

Thank you to all who have attended recent green & clean events in the region!

The Green Capital Alliance's Clean Tech Bank & Financing Summit on October 18th was a great success, facilitating discussion around financing green projects, commercial PACE, and current PACE legislation. Later in the week, Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality spoke at a Greenwise event, elaborating on economic and environmental policy working together to create jobs. Finally, Monday's fifth annual Sacramento Clean Tech Showcase was another testimony of innovation and collaboration in our region!

We foresee the green momentum continuing in the coming months. The Capital Area PEV Coordinating Council is creating new partnerships throughout the region to improve electric vehicle readiness and improve regional health, the environment, and the economy. Additionally, Sacramento City Council approved reducing solar permit fees on Tuesday, which is also reported to reduce permit review time.  Finally, Sacramento has received national attention for its partnership with Ygrene Energy Fund -- visit their splash page to stay updated with new information.

Be Well,

Julia

Review: Clean Tech Bank & Financing Summit

Thank you for all who attended the Clean Tech Bank and Financing Summit! Hosted by UC Davis and organized by the Green Capital Alliance team, the summit featured welcome remarks by Congresswoman Doris Matsui regarding the green economy.

National bankers and Valley Vision's own James Beckwith enlightened the 100 attendees with advice on financing clean energy companies and projects. A panel to discuss the financing of building retrofits highlighted the new commercial PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) program with partners Ygrene Energy and the City of Sacramento.

Closing remarks by Congressman Dan Lungren featured an appeal for support of HR 2599, a bipartisan bill coauthored by the congressman to provide a legislative fix for the stymied residential PACE programs across the country.

The Summit was the first of many activities to implement the Sacramento Clean Energy Sector Strategy released in June 2011. Learnings from the Summit will be published on the Green Capital Alliance website.BankSummit
