Summer at the Higgins

Gauntlet Girl Every day through August 31st!

Wander our galleries, see a show, make your own shield. There's always something happening at the Higgins this summer.

There was no air conditioning in the 15th century, but we keep our knights and our visitors cool.

Still space available!  Try your hand at wielding a knight's longsword, a Viking axe, or a pirate's cutlass. Ages 10 to 15 can sign up for our Youth Summer Swordplay classes.

Free Fun Fridays

Free Fun Fridays Friday, July 20th

Once again the Higgins is participating in the Highland Street Foundation's Free Fun Fridays.  Our free day is July 20th and we have a packed schedule to entertain the crowds. The Dogfather will be here for hungry visitors.

Members get the skip the line!  If you are a member, you never have to wait in line on our busy days. Come right to the lobby.

Be sure to check out the full schedule of Free Fun Fridays and have a great summer!

Ongoing class every Tu/Th/Sa
A safe, progressive system of instruction, building overall fitness and coordination as you learn living swordplay traditions handed down from the days when a person's life might depend on skill with a blade.

Ongoing class meets every Tu/Th/Sa
Learn and practice the combat skills of medieval Europe's most fearsome warriors: the Vikings. We draw heavily on the medieval sagas set in Viking-age Iceland, stories that often depict Viking-age fights. Permission of instructor required to join.
