Bows to Broadswords: Robin Hood Day
Saturday, April 21st
Hang on to your gold! Everyone's favorite outlaws, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, are taking over the Higgins! Will you join his band of outlaws? Or are you more of a Sheriff's man? Join in the rivalry between Robin, the Sheriff, and Prince John. Come dressed as your favorite character and while you're here, learn to use a sword and quarterstaff or make a shield to show whose side you're on! |

April School Vacation

An adventure awaits at the Higgins during vacation week. From hands-on shield design workshops to exciting swordplay classes, your noble knight or valiant princess will return to school with their own tale to tell!
The Higgins will be open Monday, April 16th, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

CastleKids StoryHour
 Wednesday, April 4th
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
From damsels in distress to mighty dragons, join us on the first Wednesday of every month as we share tales of adventure, from well-known fairy tales to modern picture books in the setting of our medieval Great Hall. Great for ages 3 to 5.
$12 for adult w/ one child ($8 for museum members). Includes admission, program with craft related to the story, and a snack. |
Siege the Day
Saturday, May 5th
We are looking for teams to compete in our 3rd annual Siege the Day trebuchet building contest.
Trebuchets are a type of medieval siege machine used to destroy castle walls. Using the principles of gravity and levers, they were capable of hurling large stones a great distance.

Symposium: Fiore dei Liberi April 28th 9:30 am - 3:30 pm A day of lectures, hands-on workshops, and roundtable discussions about the knightly art of 15th century fencing master, Fiore dei Liberi.

Planning is already underway for this year's Festival of Ale and Tournament of Wines and we would love to include you. Be a part of our committee, help gather auction items, or assist the evening of an event. All of our event volunteers receive a free ticket to enjoy the event.
