Welcome to the 2011 SR Chamber of Commerce
 | |
Gary Phillips
DHZ Phillips, LLC |
On behalf of the Chamber's Board, I would like to welcome you to the San Rafael Chamber E-Brief for Business and the beginning of another year. We are pleased to report the Chamber is in a great place; we start the year with a very strong Board representing businesses of all sizes that reflect a broad range of goods and service providers throughout San Rafael. This is an outstanding group of individuals who recognize the important role business plays in our community.
The Chamber is particularly pleased to announce that we added 120 new members in 2010. This indicates a continued interest in the Chamber's programs, activities and value to its members. If you are a new member, thank you for joining; if you are a continuing member, we are grateful for your ongoing support; and if you are considering becoming a member, you will be greeted by supportive Chamber members and staff. Please see our web site to get a full view of the Chamber's activities and valuable resources.
Our President, Rick Wells, is continuing to reach out to business owners and key employees to make sure they are being heard and their ideas incorporated in our programs and support to members -- he's running hard to make this one of the most effective chambers in California. This is done by clearly demonstrating the benefits of the Chamber to its members and the San Rafael community. Please free to contact Rick, myself or any of our Board members for assistance and advice, or with your input to make this organization more helpful and relevant to you and others. Remember to nominate a fellow Chamber member for Business of the Year, to be awarded April 8 at the State of the City Dinner and Installation of Officers.

Helping Businesses Save Money and Resources
Since 1990 Marin Sanitary Service has recycled more than 2.2 million tons of waste, reducing global warming pollution by 4 million metric tons. Through paper recycling alone it has saved more than 7.5 million trees in the last decade. The company offers special services to help businesses increase their recycling. At least 70 percent of the waste from a typical business is paper that could be recycled. Recycling one ton of paper saves the equivalent of 17 trees. Marin Sanitary can provide - Recycling pick-up service for paper, newsprint, cardboard, cans and bottles up to 6 times a week depending on your need.
- Different size recycling containers to fit your space.
- Debris Box rental. All boxes are assessed for recyclables, available in multiple sizes for any job.
- Confidential paper shredding. Bonded and insured, recycling 100 percent of your sensitive materials.
- Free consulting services to businesses to help them save money and resources.
Marin Sanitary has helped more than 100 businesses become certified Green as part of the Marin Green Business program. Increasing the amount you recycle and decreasing garbage sent to the landfill saves money, protects our environment and conserves resources for future generations. For information call (415) 485-1702 or visit www.MarinSanitary.com and click on commercial recycling. |
