Panel Experts include Chamber members Jill Williams, MS, SPHR, HR BizPartners; Rod Sorensen, Esq, Payne & Fears LLP; Roxanne Alaniz, Alaniz Marketing and Lorraine Gauthier, Nelson Staffing.


$20 for Chamber members and $30 for non-Chamber members; price includes continental breakfast, presentation and resource handbook. Last Chance: Sign Up for Oct. 28 Forecasting the Future

 

Wondering what the future holds in store for local business? The seventh annual Forecasting the Future Conference takes place Thursday, October 28 at the Embassy Suites Hotel from 7:30 to 10 a.m. In partnership with the Marin Economic Forum, we are pleased to announce that this event will be co-sponsored by the San Rafael and the Novato Chambers of Commerce.


Panel speakers include Jon Haveman, Beacon Economics; Dr. Robert Eyler, Marin Economic Forum; Russ Columbo, Bank of Marin; and Scott Gerber, NorCal Investment Real Estate. They will be discussing State, National and County Trends and Forecasts, and Commercial Lending and Real Estate.  The discussion will be moderated by Brad Bollinger of the North Bay Business Journal.

Marriott in Larkspur Will Host Mixer on November 10


The Chamber's November Mixer will be hosted by the Courtyard by Marriott in Larkspur, across from Marin Country Mart (a.k.a. Larkspur Landing). It includes a New Teacher Welcome ceremony, presented by the Education Committee.


Location: 2500 Larkspur Landing Circle, Larkspur. Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. If your business is a new Chamber member, you will receive an invitation to the New Member Briefing starting at 4:30; please RSVP.

Ribbon Cutting Will Open Law Offices of J.R. Hastings


The Law Offices of J.R. Hastings, specializing in Estate Planning, Trusts Administration, Probate and Elder Law has moved to a new location. On Wednesday, November 3, Mayor Al Boro will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new offices on 1003 Third Street, San Rafael. The Chamber will be there. Come join us!

Leadership Institute First Session at Bank of Marin


Bank of MarinThe first meeting of the Leadership Institute, sponsored by and held at Bank of Marin, was a huge success. The class of 22 was energetic and excited by the first session of the nine-month institute. The session focused on leadership training and was facilitated by Laura Gates and Carole Levy of Learning as Leadership. The class spent the day getting to know and trust one another through a variety of exercises. 


Session Two on Thursday, November 18, will focus on government and will take place at Wells Fargo Bank and City Hall.
