Landscaping Helps Realtors Sell Houses

For Sale Sign

While the housing market strives for recovery, many people are considering what the payback will be if they invest in things that appraisers routinely overlook such as flowers, shrubs and trees. Real-estate agents say a nicely landscaped property can have a pronounced effect on the asking price of a home.

Total Tree Care Earns
Tree Care Industry Accreditation

Accreditation helps property owners find tree care companies that are trustworthy in their business and tree care practices

I am proud to tell you that Total Tree Care has been accredited under a new Tree Care Company Accreditation program administered by the Tree Care Industry Association. TCIA's membership of over 2,000 tree care companies is built on the foundation of ethics, quality, and consumer confidence.

The new program is the only audit process in the tree care industry where businesses undergo a rigorous review of professional practices aimed at safeguarding consumers. This includes on-site audits of facilities and work sites.

The review covers business practices, ethical business conduct, employee training and certification, compliance with industry standards, consumer satisfaction, adherence to safety standards and insurance coverage.

TCIA Accreditation is a very significant differentiator for Total Tree Care. We are pleased to be recognized as one of the best tree care companies around and make a commitment to excellence in all facets of our business.

The incredibly thorough process of becoming accredited is no easy task.  Brian Kemish, a certified tree care professional [CTSP], has done a great job managing Total Tree Care's accreditation compliance. I am confident that Brian will work diligently to help Total Tree Care to continually raise the bar in each of the key accreditation areas so that annual TCIA reviews will prove that our company continues to employ trained professionals, is still properly insured and has an excellent safety and consumer satisfaction rating.

New Service: DTC

New Total Tree Care Service
Diagnostic Tree Care (DTC)

DTC complements visual inspection and enables property owners to make informed plant healthcare decisions by correcting problems before they become serious rather than to attempt to cure or maintain a tree when it is in decline.

Arborists assess the condition, vitality, growth pattern and history, environmental and cultural stresses, and insect and disease problems for a single tree or all of the trees and shrubs on a property. This includes identifying fungi, monitoring insect stage and population, excavation to gather root and soil samples, and climbing to gather bark or foliage samples from the canopy.

Overall site analytics and individual plant recommendations are included in a comprehensive report that recommends sustainable and eco-friendly practices for assuring that these plants will live long, healthy and safe lives.

Customers can subscribe to Basic soil sample analysis or Comprehensive analysis of environmental, physical and individual specimen conditions. New Service: DTC

Planned monitoring and timely treatments will protect landscape investments and reduce overall expenses.

Celebrate Arbor Day Arbor Day Traditions
Arbor Day, a holiday celebrated on the last Friday in April, originated in Nebraska in 1872 and is now celebrated in a number of countries.  Individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees.

As part of our Arbor Day tradition since 1970, Total Tree Care will present 400 tree seedlings to Cheshire 4th graders on Friday, April 24th. We want kids to develop an understanding, love and respect for trees at an early age.

Later in the month Total Tree Care will donate pruning services for the magnolia tree owned by the Historical Society of Cheshire. On June 6 will be working with the Friends of Brooksvale Park in Hamden to make safer and improve trails and campsites at Brooksvale Park in honor of Arbor Day and what it stands for.
