Mobile isn't just a snacking medium anymore, with major brands finding that the sites they create for the mobile Web are now outperforming their regular Internet sites.
 
According to Nielsen, the mobile Internet extends reach of leading Internet sites by 13-20 percent. Brands must create content so that mobile phone users will be willing to seek it out. U.S. consumers are searching for maps, directions, and local information from their mobiles.

The Where 2 Get It Mobile Web Locator is part of a comprehensive mobile project implemented by Direct Partners of Los Angeles.  The relationship between Direct Partners and Where 2 Get It was established by OSI Restaurant Partners, LLC, parent company of Fleming's.  Where 2 Get It Business Locators are used by OSI's portfolio of brands including Fleming's, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, Lee Roy Selmon's, and Cheeseburger in Paradise.
 
"When designing the mobile platform for the "Fleming's 100", their award-winning list of 100 wines served by the glass, adding the mobile restaurant locator was a strategic extension of functionality that would enhance the customer experience," said Greg Kaufman, Senior Manager, Interactive Technology, at Direct Partners.
 
The site, m.flemings100.com, can be accessed using Web-enabled handheld devices or mobile phones. Consumers can view wine labels and robust descriptions of each of the 100 wines that make up the "Fleming's 100", menu information, and location search by zip code providing each restaurant's contact information. The site premiered at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic in June to rave reviews and continues to receive heavy traffic, with 25 percent of visitors directly accessing the mobile site and 75 percent being directed from search.
 
"No matter where our guests are traveling, they are now able to find the nearest Fleming's, as well as the perfect wine to round out their dining experience, quickly and easily," says Marian Jansen op de Haar, Director of Wine for Fleming's.
 
Kaufman noted Where 2 Get It's ability to move quickly in the integration and development cycle, enabling an extremely fast time-to-market that ensured the mobile locator's successful debut to a discriminating audience at the Food and Wine Classic.
