Cloisonne

Cloisonne, an enameled art form with a history as colorful as the beads, dates back more than 500 years. The traditional method of making cloisonne is an elaborate and complicated process. Cloisonne now ranks as one of China's major contributions to the world's fine arts.
We recently hand-selected a gorgeous collection of cloisonne beads in new and traditional colors and shapes.
Circles. Swirls and Flowers
During a recent bead buying adventure we discovered this cool new line of base metal beads. They are heavy in the hand, which will add some weight to your designs, while still being intricate. We selected a selection of beads that we thought you would like. This includes coin, square, round and tube shapes with floral, swirl, circle and dragonfly motifs.
Cinnabar The art of hand carving lacquer is unique to early China. The name cinnabar refers to the red mineral colorant that was traditionally used to color the resin (or sap) that came from of a family of trees found in southern China. Today chemical resins are dyed and machine carved into beatifully detailed beads and pendants. These detained beads and pendants are lightweight. |
