The Tassel Trend

Tassel SetsThe word "tassel" comes from the Latin "tassau" which means a clasp.

Traditionally a tassel is a finishing feature in fabric decoration.  It is a universal ornament that can be seen in varying versions in many cultures around the world.  Tassels are most often made by binding gathered threads at one end leaving a "skirt" at the other end.

arrived on the scene to provide shelter, support and comfort.Virginia, through her Gather Here Blog is sponsoring a raffle to help the American Red Cross's Tornado Relief efforts.

Resin Bead Shapes

Resin Beads

For the first time since Bakelite a material that is lightweight, brightly colored and affordable is available.  Resin beads come in a wide range of shapes, sizes and of course colors.

Perfect for lightweight summer jewelry, these resin beads can be mixed with other materials, embossed or designed to stand alone.  A new selection has just arrived in our stores.

Sterling Silver Caps and Cones

Sterling Silver caps and cones add a professional finish to just about any jewelry design.

Use cones to transition multiple strands of a necklace to the clasp. Cones are very popular for finishing kumihimo and tubular peyote also. Caps can of course be used to "cap" a bead for earrings, but caps are also great for "sandwiching" a bead in a necklace or bracelet design.

Silk Bangles and Hoop Earrings

Silk Bangles

Featuring the bright colors found in so many accessories from India these bangles are just delightful.  Each bangle is handmade with tightly wound lustrous silk thread around a soft and flexible base.  These bangles are sized to fit an average woman's wrist.

The hoop earrings are lightweight, colorful and are a terrific compliment to the bangles or summer dresses.
