| Overcoming Doubt |

Most of the time human's doubt their
future, hesitating to believe in themselves,
their hopes
and dreams. Fearing disappointment, many
suspect
the worst and plan for it. Doubts create
negative
energy. What you speak, think, feel or
imagine will
magnetize more of the same to you. When doubt
goes missing from your mind, words, feelings and
actions you can then attract certainty.
Doubts are easy to identify, they generally
follow
words like can't, because and but.
I really want a new house but
I can't
afford one right now.
I can't have a relationship because
I'm not attractive.
I really want a new job but I need more
education.
My body isn't healthy because I'm too
lazy to
eat right and exercise.
One day my dear friend, Chris, began
complaining to
me about her job. Chris shared how tired she
was of
getting up at 5 am to put on makeup and high
heels
only to talk over the phone to clients and
support staff
on the East Coast and Europe who couldn't
even see
what she was wearing. She told me that she
wanted
to work from home wearing her sweats and no
makeup. I said, "what's the problem"?
Chris' eyes
bulged in response to my carefree question and
said, "I can't, what would people think, I
can't tell my
boss. I have a nice corner office I should
go in".

I have an
almost-12-
year-old daughter who is pretty unhappy and
often
hostile at home. She is a great student, but
has a lot
of anxiety and a hard time making friends.
This
anxiety often comes out in the form of obsessive
cleanliness and anger at me. Any help you
could give
me in handling her and myself would be much

In my past, I have had a lot of
surgeries on my legs (mostly knees). I
started yoga
about 2-1/2 years ago and it significantly
improved the
pain in my legs. However, about 2 months ago, I
started to have pain in my groin area which
feels like a
tendon/ligament strain. About a week later,
my right
knee started to have a unique pain in the
back of the
knee which is not the typical pain I usually
have. I
have been trying to understand what the
universe is
trying to get me to change and to understand
what is
going on. Is there any insight that you can
provide?

Every time I
take a
shower or bath I get tons of itchy hives all
over my
back, chest, arms, and stomach. It's happened
on and
off since I was a teenager and I've ruled out
an allergy
to particular soaps. I've been doing
acupuncture to
treat this but nothing has changed. What
could this
possibly be about? Thank you so much for your
help.

A friend and I attended your
class at
East West books on "Past Lives". Is the
integration of
past lives into our current life accomplished
more
readily when we are younger than when we are
older? I ask because we noticed that many of
the
people with whom you did readings on seemed
to be
in their 30's. It seems that by the time we
reach our
midlife, many of us have done "inner work"
with a
counselor or body worker and seem to be at a
place of
contentment. Contentment might be accepting
what
is rather than being integrated.
