Semi Rugged Laptops are typically commercial computers that have been  significantly enhanced for rugged use with a magnesium case, a shock or gel-mounted hard disk drive and a spill-proof keyboard. 

Fully Rugged Laptops have been designed from the ground up for use in outdoor, dusty or mobile conditions.  Due to their "sealed nature", they resist dust, dirt, sand, salt, moisture, heat and cold. Often they come with display screens that can be viewed in outdoor lighting conditions.

The fully rugged and convertible Panther 2000 CV is manufactured for the mobile computing user that demands performance in the harshest of environments. The 2000 CV comes fully encased in magnesium alloy with protective doors for all the I/O ports and connectors. The screen is sunlight readable 13.3" WXGA Touchscreen, and the keyboard is backlit to allow for easy operation in dark environments. Security features include a shock mounted removable hard drive, TPM module and fingerprint recognition.
