Message From Richard

Greetings my brothers and sisters and welcome to our latest edition of Gods Faith Book's weekly newsletter. I'd like to once again welcome all our new members that have been joining us over the past week. It brings me great joy to welcome all of you to our growing community of friends and prayer warriors. Our membership has been increasing by dozens every week and it's due in part to the comments spread by our current members. Thank you all and God Bless.

If you haven't had a chance to vote on our Poll question, Why are you a Christian?--you have till the end of the week to vote before a new poll question is posted. Results are tallied after each vote and you can see how your opinions differ from other members. New poll questions will be posted on the 15th and 30th of each month. You can find poll question in the quick links section located on black menu bar at top of home page.

To all our Jewish friends and neighbors, please accept the wishes and prayers of your friends here at GFB for a Happy and Healthy Jewish New Year. For those of you not familiar with the Jewish Holidays that have just passed, please go to the quick links section on the black menu bar at top of home page and click on links and then go to Special Days and click on the Jewish Holidays as well as several other religious holidays and you will be able to read and hopefully get a better understanding of other Religious Holidays. If we've left off any other holidays, please let me know and I will add them.

A beautiful mind is a simple mind!! By: Greg Ryan

In the movie "A Beautiful Mind" John Nash (played by Russell Crowe) is a schizophrenic math genius who struggles with is inability to have peace of mind. In one scene he bangs his head on the window until it bleeds begging his mind to slow down, all the while having a conversation with his imaginary room mate Charles.

Now hopefully none of us are schizo (and if you are keep it to your self) but at end of the summer we all could probably bang our heads against a wall wanting to quiet our minds and take a break. By now the kids are going back to school, to many chicken breasts on the grill and the daily down pours and humidity is making life crazy. In a funny way the last thing on our mind but the thing we want most is just a little peace and quiet.

While such a simple act, Jesus new the importance of quiet time. There are numerous accounts in the bible of Jesus just going into total solitude and prayer for rejuvenation. To bad we all don't have forty days to spare. For most we just can't seem to get a moment alone. Kids, jobs, errands you name it, the demands of life are relentless. Do you know after a twenty year study they have found through technology that we have more time for ourselves today than back then, 1.5 hours to be exact.

Giving yourself even ten minutes of quiet time is like investing money in the bank it pays dividends long term if not immediately. Our minds are remarkable instruments, and the creator of our minds made them to work best in their simplest form. Some of the things Jesus practiced to make his life simpler were: delegation of duties, he had only a few not a lot of friends he confided in (with this came less demands on his time), practiced good listening skills, spent time in nature, and maybe most important had a servant's heart.

We may never have a beautiful intellectual mind as that of John Nash, but we can give ourselves a wonder gift of a simple mind by allowing it to rest some each day. The biggest challenge for us this week may not be meeting a dead line at work, or making sure the kids have their school clothes for the year it just may be in the slowing down of our minds. Give yourself one of the greatest things you can this week, the gift of a simple mind. In turn you may just see how beautiful life can be.

I started this page with the mission of spreading the Gospel. as a Christian brother i know the importance of sharing God's word. Planting seeds and praying that it may land on receptive soil to anyone who comes across this page. and posting Devotionals from Harvest Ministries as inspirational words of encouragement to strengthen believers in the faith.

With over 1 billion internet users in the World and being able to speak to large audiences in seconds. i believe that social media is one of the best tools at our disposal for Preaching the Gospel and making God known. i may not be a well known public figure but as the bible commands us to "Go into all the world and preach the Good news to everyone." i go into (All of my world) telling Friends, Family, & people i come in contact with via internet about Christ.

"Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. - mark 16:15"
Weekly Prayer

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Dear Lord, see me through these hard times. In these troubling times, I am filled with unspeakable fears. I reach out my hand to you now, And ask you to walk besides me. I cannot carry all my burdens, But I know you can, and will. Please walk beside me. Please guide me. Please help me hold on strong, Through the trials and storms. Help me hold on to my faith, In even the darkest hour. Stay with me Lord, And show me Your way. In your love and Holy Spirit I abide. Amen.
