Message From Richard

Greetings my brothers and sisters and welcome to our latest edition of Gods Faith Book's weekly newsletter. I'd like to once again welcome all our new members that have been joining us over the past week. It brings me great joy to welcome all of you to our growing community of friends and prayer warriors. Our membership has been increasing by dozens every week and it's due in part to the comments spread by our current members. Thank you all and God Bless.

If you haven't had a chance to check out GFB gift store, please take a look. New products are being added to our Gift Store weekly, so keep checking our gift store out for your personal, family or friend gifts. As an added incentive for our members, you can deduct 15% from your total order by using our special member code, which is: GFBMEMBER. Also remember that for a limited time only, we have also decided to drop all shipping and handling charges. We've done this as an incentive for you to try out our new gift store. And remember, that profits from our store will be used to fund our various charitable efforts as well as help fund the continuation of your GFB site.

Also don't forget to check out our new poll questions. A new question will be added on the 15th and 30th of every month.

Our new International Bible Class which was held on Tuesday afternoon was a huge success with several of our international members attending that could not make our evening class. This new class will continue every Tuesday at 3PM EST. And don't forget, Bible Class will be held tonight in the chat room at 8 PM EST, led by our Sister Faith.

Have you checked out our FREE e card section? Some really great cards to send to friends and loved ones and they are all FREE.

Many more changes are coming to our site. As we go through these changes, we will need your feedback and comments on the changes coming through. I welcome your comments and continued support.

Remember, that this site does not belong to one person, it belongs to all of you. Without YOU, there is no US. Always Dare To Dream.

"Thank You Lord for this day, and for all you have done for us. Lord forgive us our sins, and help us with forgiveness of others. Lord please heal our bodies, minds and hearts, so that we are free and healthy in body, mind and Spirit. Lord may you guide, protect and provide for our family needs. In Jesus name we pray. Amen"

Why Doesn't God Perform Some Spectacular Miracle And Prove Himself?  By Marilyn Adamson

"Why are there no clearly visible miracles today that shout -- without a shadow of a doubt -- to everyone in the world: 'There is a God!'?"

Many of us want strong, even overwhelming reasons to believe in God.

Oh, there are strong factual and philosophical reasons to believe (see the section 'God's Existence' on www.EveryStudent.com).

But why doesn't God just exhibit himself in such a blatant way that people would HAVE to believe he exists? A good answer is presented by Philip Yancey in his book, The Jesus I Never Knew.

Yancey points out that God has given us the freedom to believe in him or not. And he says, "My faith suffers from too much freedom, too many temptations to disbelieve. At times I want God to overwhelm me, to overcome my doubts with certainty, to give final proofs of his existence and his concern. I want a God without ambiguity, One to whom I can point for the sake of my doubting friends."

But then he says, "The more I get to know Jesus, the more impressed I am by what [Dostoevsky] calls the miracle of restraint."

Jesus could have performed such spectacular miracles that people would have to believe in him. He could have healed entire towns with one mass proclamation. He could have taken present day New York City, complete with skyscrapers, subways, electronic neon billboards and dropped it right before them.

But he didn't. Why not?

God always upholds the free will he created us to have.

Yancey says, "More amazing is his refusal to perform and to overwhelm. God's terrible insistence on human freedom is so absolute that he granted us the power to live as though he did not exist, to spit in his face, to crucify him. I believe God insists on such restraint because no pyrotechnic displays of omnipotence will achieve the response he desires. Although power can force obedience, only love can summon a response of love, which is the one thing God wants from us and the reason he created us."

What God wants is for us to know him as our Father, Friend, Comforter, Counselor, Lord -- willingly, not under compulsion.

He has given us more than ample reason to believe in him. But he doesn't force us to know him. Even as Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one opens the door, I will come into him" (Revelation 3:20). He enters our lives at our permission. And if we sincerely want to find out if he's there and what he is like, he will allow us to find him and know him.
Ask Faith
Group Profile - Ask Faith

Do you have questions on how to use the GFB site?  Problems?  Comments?

Don't keep them to yourself.  Post them in the group 'Ask Faith'.  For our newer members, Sister Faith is the GFB caretaker who not only administers and organizes many or our activities like Bible Studies and Prayer Groups but also knows how to use and 'get around' the site better than anyone.  By posting them in this group they are then available to all others to also view when they need assistance.

Weekly Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, so many around us have deserted You and rejected You, and many even within the church are corrupting and perverting Your Name. Evil cults have arisen which mimic but mock Your true church. Our leaders are clueless, using this moral chaos for their own selfish purposes. Still Your dear people call upon Your Name, and put full trust and confidence in You. Preserve us and strengthen us even as Your hand of judgment falls upon those who pervert Your Name. Amen.
