Good...All the Time

John 10:10-11 gives us a great truth, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep."

Is your concept of God that He is good sometimes, but not all the time? That sometimes He is blessing you; but other times, He is the source of your troubles? If so, I want to put that notion out of your heart and mind today.

Jesus came to give us abundant life, while the devil, the thief, wants to steal, kill, and destroy. God is always a good God, and the devil is always a bad devil.

I remember, as a young Christian, I ran into another new convert in the park one day. He looked troubled, so I asked him what was up. He told me he was sick and had just received some bad news as well. Then he went on to tell me that he was at a Bible study the day before and they told him that God was doing all of these things to him.

It had shaken him to think that God was the source of his troubles, and that He was responsible for all the troubles in his life.

A lot of people tend to think that way, but it is just wrong. God is good all the time. The Bible says in James 1:17,

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

There is not the slightest degree of variation in this. God is good. And the gifts He gives are good and perfect gifts. I am glad they don't just stay in heaven. God sees to it that they make their way down to you and me.

God is good...all the time.

Prayer Meeting Notes

JESUS TEACHES US IF WE WANT OUR PRAYERS HEARD & ANSWERED, WE MUST:

1. BEGIN BY PRAISING, HONORING, & GLORIFYING HIS NAME.
2. REMIND HIM OF HIS WORD'S SCRIPTURAL PRAYER PROMISES.
3. ASK FIRST FOR THE SALVATION OF ALL THOSE YOU ARE PRAYING FOR.
4. LIFT UP THE PRAYER REQUESTS...ONE BY ONE
5. END YOUR PRAYERS WITH THANKING JESUS FOR HEARING/ANSWERING.

Devotion

"Jesus answered them, 'I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about Me, but you do not believe because you are not among My sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are One.' The Jews picked up stones again to stone him." John 10:25-31

Message From Richard

Greetings my brothers and sisters and welcome to our latest edition of Gods Faith Book's weekly newsletter. I'd like to once again welcome all our new members that have been joining us over the past week. It brings me great joy to welcome all of you to our growing community of friends and prayer warriors.

Major overhaul of GFB is on the way. After 18 months , we've decided that it's time for a face lift. A new home page template is being worked on and will be coming over the next couple of weeks. This new template will have much more color and will make it easier to get to the various activities available on our site.

Did you know that we have over 350 groups that have been formed on GFB. We have a group for almost any activity that you can imagine and more are being formed every week. Groups include, prayer, teen activity, love of cooking, jokes, men's groups and women only groups as well as Church activities. Join in and set up your own group--let your imagination roam. Your group can be open to everybody or you can make it private with limited access. If you need help setting up your group, let me know and I will be glad to help you.

Injustice and my own attitude

Lord, it's good to be actively concerned about the abuses of human rights in other countries, but I must not lose sight of the mis-treatment of others closer to me.

Most particularly, Lord, point out to me my own failings in lacking respect for those who come into my daily life.

I readily condemn slavery, but help me to liberate those I know who are overburdened.

I condemn torture, but lead me to discourage the use of cruel words and actions.

Remind me that those who degrade others are themselves diminished. Enlighten me so that I do not jump to conclusions about people, or be judgmental.

Lead me always to respect individuals for who they are, realizing that their experiences may be different from my own, as each follows paths in life that are individual to them.

May I grow in appreciation that those who think differently from me can hold equally valid views.

In these and other ways, Lord, may I grow in respect for all people. This day, may others respect me as much as I respect them.

Amen.

Remember, that this site does not belong to one person, it belongs to all of you. Without YOU, there is no US. Support your site by going to your gift store on home page and make a purchase to support all the activities we are all enjoying.

"Thank You Lord for this day, and for all you have done for us. Lord forgive us our sins, and help us with forgiveness of others. Lord please heal our bodies, minds and hearts, so that we are free and healthy in body, mind and Spirit. Lord may you guide, protect and provide for our family needs. In Jesus name we pray. Amen"
