Mom's Empty Chair
A woman's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her mother.
When the minister arrived, he found the woman lying in bed with her head propped up on two pillows. an empty chair sat beside her bed.
The minister assumed that the woman dad been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me", he said.
"No, who are you?' said the mother.
The minister told her his name and then remarked, 'I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up.'
'Oh yeah, the chair,' said the bedridden woman. 'Would you mind closing the door?'
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
'I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter,' said the woman. 'But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head.' I abandoned any attempt at prayer,' The old woman continued,' until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus.'
Here is what I suggest. 'Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I will be with you always'. 'Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now.'
'So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm.'
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old woman to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with her, anointed her with oil, and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her mama had died that afternoon.
Did she die in peace?' he asked.
Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, she called me over to her bedside, told me she loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found her. But there was something strange about her death apparently, just before Mom died, she leaned over and rested her head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?'
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, 'I wish we could all go like that.'

Member Profile - Mary Dionne
I was born July 1953, the last of seven siblings. After my biological mother passed away at age two, I was adopted by two wonderful parents, who loved the LORD. My growing up years were pretty normal, & happy at least by my standards.
At age thirty two, I married for the only time in my life, accepted Jesus Christ while pregnant with daughter, tho having no mentor...I didn't know or understand what it meant to be saved, just that Jesus loved me, and forgave my sins...due to reasons out of my control, I divorced my husband and lost my daughter. I also attended Cosmetology School at age thirty three, and have been a self employed hairstylist ever since. I love all aspects of doing hair & having the time to share Jesus with clients too....right now in search of a salon to work in....
In February of 2003, I rededicated my life back to Jesus and it has been a journey unlike any other.......He restored a part of my family to me...tho they have passed on to be w/Jesus now...I know that I know...I am well Blessed. My walk with Jesus has grown over the last years and I would never change it for the world.
I became a member of God's Faithbook {GFB} two years ago next month....I love my GFB family and friends, attending GFB Bible Studies, GFB Prayer Meetings and GFB Praise & Worship Music Video Night each week. I thank Jesus for leading me to this site, as it is my home away from HOME. Special Thanks go out to RichardKaye founder of GFB and Faith, GFB's Gatekeeper, for all that they do and continue to do...to make this site better and better. Along the way I've met several wonderful people who are my brothers and sisters in Faith on here.
I have recently started working with Charles Gentry on his GGG Media site as Media Associate & Prayer Group Assistant and am looking forward to the growth of this web magazine.... I am a member of Fountain Of Life Fellowship which is a wonderful Jesus-filled church.
Peace be with you, see ya'll on GFB!!!!

Devotion
"Fire devoured their young men, and their young women had no marriage song. Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows made no lamentation. Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine. And He put His adversaries to rout; He put them to everlasting shame." Psalm 78:63-66

Message From Richard
Greetings my brothers and sisters and welcome to our latest edition of Gods Faith Book's weekly newsletter. I'd like to once again welcome all our new members that have been joining us over the past week. It brings me great joy to welcome all of you to our growing community of friends and prayer warriors.
GFB was founded over 18 months ago and like any young organization has been experiencing growing pains. With the help of many, too many to mention here, we have overcome many problems and have initiated many new features, such as groups, a new and improved chat room for members to meet and chat and join in our Bible Class discussions, daily Bible verses, and most recently blogs from members that are not only posted on our home page but are posted on the internet and can be read and enjoyed by many many more than just our own membership.
While we are still experiencing some problems with our server. I'm also pleased to announce that our new server has been fully integrated into our system.
I also want to take a moment to thank all those members that have been making gift purchases from our gift store. Your purchasing and outright donations have greatly helped us to finance all our many activities and now allows us to keep developing new and improved activities for all to enjoy. I'm now in the process of adding new and exciting items to our gift store. Members have asked for books and music and we will be adding a selection for you to purchase. Remember, profits from the gift store is what helps fund our site and various charitable activities.
Remember, that this site does not belong to one person, it belongs to all of you. Without YOU, there is no US. Always Dare To Dream:
DARE TO DREAM MY DREAM Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more then all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.-Ephesians3:20-21
Dream your biggest most incredible dream and then know that I am able to do far more than that, for more than you could ever ask or imagine. Allow me to fill your mind with my dreams for you . Don't be discouraged if your prayers are not answered right away. Time is a great teacher. It teaches you to be patient and to trust is my perfect plan even when you don't know what is going to happen next.
When everything seems way too hard, that is when you can truly see my power at work is your life. don't let this world's craziness draw you into worry. Instead, choose to see that I am doing around you. Remember, there is no limit to what I can do.
