Taco Bell
May 24th participating Taco Bell restaurants across the United States started inviting customers to give $1 to support the Taco Bell Graduate to Go initiative. In addition, $5 donations from Taco Bell to its foundation will be made through social media actions by its fans/followers. Money raised will provide local grants to teen outreach programs and local Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. Join us as we support the fundraiser via Facebook, Twitter and at local Taco Bell restaurants. The fundraiser ends on June 7.
So far, Boys & Girls Clubs raised $500,000 to help teens like Boys & Girls Club member, Gloria be the first in their family to graduate high school.
Go to the Taco Bell page and "Like" the last status similar to this one. For every "Like" Taco Bell will donate $5 to the "Graduate to Go" initiative which supports hundreds of local teen-serving organizations. Up to $1 million!
Great Board Meeting This Month!
Our organization is driven by a board of directors who sets policy and funds policy for our organization. The resources the board secures allows staff to do what they do on a daily basis with our 3,000 club members in 6 clubs throughout Acadiana. We had another inspiring board meeting this month at the Petroleum Club. Board Member Bob Sellman with AT&T told his story of how the Club gave him a positive place to spend time during his youth. It truly made a positive impact on his life and helped keep him on the right path for success. Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana welcomes Karen Lincoln, President and Publisher with The Daily Advertiser and The Daily World, to our Board of Directors. Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana also welcomes Reed Gaede, store leader with JC Penney, to our Board of Directors.
Congratulations Pat Fontenot - thanks for your support of the Boys & Girls Club in Opelousas.

Louisiana All Staff Conference
We hosted the Louisiana All Staff Conference funded by the Louisiana Children's Trust Fund. This is a Boys & Girls Club training where close to 100 youth development professionals from throughout the state come together for a couple of days to exchange best practices and to prepare for summer programming. The conference was held at the Hilton Garden. We are proud to say that two of our staff members (Cerita Davis & Anesha Burgess) won awards.
