Dear Songwork Members,
This week's video, Process, is the 6th and final video in "Living a Writer's Life." This theme has featured videos on setting goals, getting your songs heard, creative uses for your songs and what it means to live a writer's life on a daily basis. We hope you have enjoyed this series! Stay tuned for next week when we begin looking more deeply at lyric writing with the theme, "Going Deeper with Lyrics," where we'll take a closer look at verse development, and the kinds of phrasing considerations that can make your lyrics a lot more emotional.
This Week's New Video
Quick Tip, Process: Your "process" is the way you get through the starting and finishing of a song. Every artist or artisan has a "process" which is honed and relied upon to complete one's art. And usually in the early years of writing, everyone's process is fairly unique and what is relied upon to write most songs. Typically, as more skills (and more varied skills) are developed, more than just one process emerges. In this class, Bonnie points out a variety of ways to get a song started and finished, while also briefly pointing out what has worked best for her.
