Hello Songwork Members!

For those of you who celebrated Carnaval this year, we hope you had a wonderful time and are transitioning smoothly back to a more normal (as in not partying every night until 4AM) schedule. Here at Songwork, we believe there's nothing to help transitional phases quite like shifting ones focus to new projects, so, we are doing our best to help you out by beginning the release of a new 4-part series of videos by Pat Pattison on "Point of View."

We will also begin phasing out of the previous topic - "Creating More Emotion" by releasing, today and next week, the last 2 videos in Bonnie Hayes' 10-part series, "Theory with Bonnie." Those final 2 videos will focus on the use of different types of minor chords in songs to create deeper emotions.

We hope you enjoy this week's new videos, and please don't hesitate to let us know what you think!

Sincerely,

Jonelle Vette

Point of View with Pat Pattison: 1st Person, Part 1

Instructor: Pat Pattison

Dive deeper into the lyric writing topic "Point of View" in this 4 part lecture series with Pat Pattison. Pat uses 2 classes for both 1st Person and 2nd Person, resulting in a comprehensive lecture series covering the most common points of view found in song lyrics.

Theory with Bonnie Part 9: Relative Minors

Instructor: Bonnie Hayes

In this class, Bonnie gets into the "sad" sound of music and shows you how to find the Relative minor for any key. This can be a great harmonic place to go in a new song section - especially if it's supposed to be sad.
