Greetings! Good morning. This has been a tremendous week for building community.
This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending Temple Beth El's Open House and Kosher-Q in Newark. Seeing the sanctuary filled with religious school children singing with Rabbi Micah was a special treat. Congregation Beth Shalom's Kugelmania was also another hit.

And nine women from our community departed to New York on Sunday for the International Lion of Judah Conference, joining more than 1,700 other women from around North America (see article below).
On Monday night, our Young Leadership Division had its Quizzo Night at the Chelsea Tavern. Thanks to Rob Kleiner and DJ Joey "Z" for their assistance in making this an enjoyable evening.
Jewish Family Services of Delaware's REEL Talk was held at the World Cafe Live on Wednesday night. Having an opportunity to see the great work of our JFS was personally gratifying. Yasher ko'ach to JFS President, Alan Horowitz, and JFS CEO, Dory Zatuchni.
Last night more than 400 members of our community gathered at the Siegel JCC for the Candidates Forum, Federation's co-sponsored event with the Wilmington Chapter of Hadassah. Special thanks to JCRC Chair John Elzufon, Hadassah's Lisa Elliott, our wonderful moderator Michael Sigman and Federation staff Gina Kozicki for their assistance in making this a memorable event.

Year In Review 5772
Dr. Erica Brown | JNS.org
"Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you." -Deuteronomy 32:7
 | | Dr. Erica Brown |
It's that time again: a new Hebrew year is upon us. It's time for the Jewish year in review based on a mandate from Deuteronomy that we remember days past because they teach us life lessons for the future. And when our memories fail us, we are told to seek out the help of others.
Yehuda Kurtzer in Shuva: The Future of the Jewish Past makes a fascinating observation: "One of the great ironies of modern Jewish life is that we now know much more about our origins, our history, and our ancestry than we ever did before; and as a collective, we care about it considerably less." But we should; to help we need a quick review of 5772.
