Greetings!

On Sunday, I had the privilege of attending a Federation Past Presidents gathering at the home of Leslie Newman. It was energizing to be surrounded by a think-tank of inspired leadership who have a sincere passion for community building.

On Monday we completed the March issue of the Jewish VOICE and uploaded files to our printer by late evening. It was printed, assembled and mailed by Thursday afternoon. We anticipate in-home delivery as early as this weekend and hope you enjoy our Purim edition!

On Tuesday I attended the first of several Allocations Committee meetings where we will be evaluating the requests of our beneficiary agencies and other affiliated organizations who rely on Federation's critical financial support. We will be determining allocations for both our local and overseas partners in the coming weeks.

On Thursday I attended "An Evening of Celebration at The Queen" for the Kutz Home and the kick-off of their Assisted Living/Memory Care Residence. Many members of our community attended to show support for this effort.

And this coming Sunday I am joining 57 delegates from our community who are attending the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington D.C.

Another important week of Improving Our World...TOGETHER.

Shabbat Shalom,

An Interfaith Approach to Understanding Israel

After 'In Darkness': Halina Wind's

Pat Crowe/News-Journal
uplifting message
By David Lee Preston

At a reception last month in New York, I introduced myself to the Polish film director Agnieszka Holland. "Ah," she said, extending her hand. "I am sorry that I did not include your mother in the movie." She was referring to "In Darkness," a nominee for best foreign language film at this year's Academy Awards. We'd had friendly correspondence over the last two years. So why did she feel the need to apologize before another word was spoken?. Read more...
