"Do not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your needy brother."

- Deuteronomy 15:7

Greetings!

Jewish tradition teaches us that we are all responsible for each other and must act with loving kindness. Giving - of our time and resources - is a way of life. At the Jewish Federation of Delaware, we take this sacred mission seriously, upholding our belief in and practice of caring and compassion (chesed), Jewish learning (Torah), repairing of the world (tikkun olam) and social justice (tzedakah)...with the help of our generous donors.

In years of economic uncertainty, one thing remains certain: we must continue to provide critical aid to those members of our extended Jewish family who are seeking food, health care and financial assistance. We must keep our promises to local affiliated agencies and honor our commitments to our international partners. We still need to raise more than $100,000 to meet our goal. We invite you to be a part of Federation's 2011Campaign, ensuring the continuity of a strong and vibrant Jewish community in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, in Israel and around the world.

YOU have the power to make wishes come true for those less fortunate. When you give from the heart, the isolated get comfort and the traumatized can get the healing they desperately need. Now is the time. Every gift is a lifeline of hope. Every gift makes a difference. Every gift brings us closer to improving the world for each and every Jew.

If you have not yet made your gift to Federation's 2011 Campaign, there is still time to join us and do a mitzvah today. If you have already made your contribution, please consider making a supplemental gift if you are able to do so at this critical time.

Thank you for taking action and ensuring our Jewish future.

Sincerely,
