 AGENCY FOCUS:
At the Kutz Home, growing older is recognized as a special time of life. Their trained staff cares for all the needs of their residents - medical, emotional, social and spiritual. These needs are met with sensitivity and compassion, in an environment nurturing Jewish tradition and values.
The Kutz Home traces its roots to 1902, when members of the Ladies Bichor Cholem Society began visiting Wilmington's sick and elderly. Today the home has 90 beds, an activities mall, a visitors center and two new wings.
The Kutz Home is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Delaware.

Greetings!
Every day of every year the Jewish Federation of Delaware works with local, national and international agencies to transform lives and deliver hope, dignity and comfort to millions of people at home, in Israel and around the world - ordinary people facing extraordinary needs even in ordinary times.
On Tuesday, I had the privilege of attending an Interfaith luncheon in Bear, DE with Federation JCRC Chair, John Elzufon, to learn more about Christians United for Israel (CUFI) whose purpose is to provide a national association through which every pro-Israel church, parachurch organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel in matters related to Biblical issues..
On Wednesday, Federation conducted a phoning session to help raise the critical dollars needed to close the 2011 Campaign and meet our allocation commitments. Thank you to the many volunteers and donors who have generously given their time and dollars.
On Thursday I attended the funeral of community leader, Milton Wolf, where Rabbi Micah Becker-Klein of Temple Beth El reminded us that birth is a beginning and death a destination but life is an adventure and a journey.
As our 2011 Campaign concludes later this month, please join us with your generous support so Federation can continue improving lives and ensuring a better journey for others who rely on us. Shabbat Shalom
Seth J. Katzen Chief Executive Officer
Congratulations to community leader, Toni Young, who was recently elected to the board of directors of American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (AABGU). Federation's ongoing relationship in Arad/Tamar and the Negev was made possible through Toni's efforts. Your Delaware community is very proud of your latest achievement.

17th Annual Jewish Women's Gathering Moo Shoo with a Shmear
When Deborah Grayson Riegel, a professional coach and speaker, was invited to become a Visiting Professor of Executive Communications for the MBA program at Peking University in Beijing, China, she didn't realize how challenging it would be to live a Jewish life among more than a billion non-Jews. Find out how she coped and what she learned at the 17th Annual Jewish Women's Gathering, Thursday, December 8 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Siegel JCC.
Twelve local Jewish agencies have joined together to sponsor this annual event that includes dinner. Tickets are now $25 per person.

Thank You for Answering the Call and Improving Our World!
Thank you to our volunteers who called hundreds of community members Wednesday night, raising $33,000 for the 2011 Annual Campaign and assisting Federation in fulfilling the needs of our local and global Jewish community.
With your support, we are "Improving Our World...Together."

 PJ Library in the Synagogues!
If you haven't yet heard that the PJ Library is in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, you may hear about it at your synagogue!
Rabbis and Education Directors at all of our local congregations will receive a set of PJ Library books, and a couple of synagogues have already begun to do programming using the books.
This past Wednesday, half a dozen moms and their young ones joined Rabbi Micah Becker-Klein at Temple Beth El in Newark for the congregation's twice monthly "Eema, Abba and Me" program, where Rabbi Micah read a PJ Library book! Click here to view all of their preschool programs, which are free and open to the community.
Tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth Shalom's First Friday Family Shabbat, Rabbi Michael Beals will read one of the latest PJ Library books to arrive in Delaware homes. Click here for more information on this program, which is also free and open to the community.
