The mission of the Halina Wind Preston Holocaust Education Center (HEC) is to educate the community on the causes and events of the Holocaust so that its lessons may prevent such a tragedy from happening again.
Among other things, HEC runs screenings of the "No Denying: Delawareans Bear Witness to the Holocaust" DVD, has a Speakers' Bureau, performs teacher workshops and sponsors an annual Interfaith Clergy Trip to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
CLICK HERE and scroll down the page to learn about the next screening of "No Denying" at the Delaware Art Museum along with "A Love to Hide" as part of the Newark Film Festival.

Greetings!
Yesterday marked my one year anniversary as CEO of the Jewish Federation of Delaware. It has been a remarkable and memorable year for me on many levels. I would like to share some of Federation's successes and accomplishments over the past year; - Successfully closed the 2010 Annual Campaign at our goal of $1.6 million
- Completely redesigned the Jewish VOICE newspaper
- Introduced J-VOICE, our weekly e-newsletter
- Relaunched our website, ShalomDelaware.org
- Secured funding for this month's launch of The PJ Library
- Produced an all-new SHALOM Delaware Guide
- Enhanced Federation staff complement with the hiring of a new Development Director, Endowment Director and Editor
Thank you for making me and my family feel at home in Delaware. I look forward to many more successful and meaningful years of Improving Our World...TOGETHER. Shabbat Shalom

When Albert Einstein Academy (AEA)students head back to school on Tuesday, September 6, there wil be 46 students enrolled, from first through fifth grade. Enrollment in the Hebrew day school has increased for four consecutive years. Michal Cherrin, Head of School says, "We are very excited for our new school year, here at Albert Einstein Academy. Our enrollment is up 15% from last year and we are eager to welcome so many new families to the school." Each year, the school adopts a different theme, and this year's theme is "AEA Explores the Arts." Albert Einstein Academy students learn through doing and we are looking forward to a terrific year with our theme, 'AEA Explores the Arts.' Einstein teaches kids to think for themselves and to present those ideas clearly and publicly. Our graduates make a big difference in our community and in the world!" The Albert Einstein Academy is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Delaware.

Building Bridges

For the past decade, the Jewish communities of New Jersey and Delaware have enjoyed a growing bond with the Israeli towns of Arad and Tamar through Partnership 2000. Partnership 2000, recently renamed Partnership 2Gether (P2G), is a program of the Jewish Agency for Israel, linking communities in the Diaspora with communities in Israel, predominantly in the Negev and the Galilee.
Immediately following Hurricane Irene, any visitor to the New Jersey/Delaware and Arad/Tamar Partnership 2000 Facebook page would have seen how close the connections have grown. Yardena Haiman, an Arad/Tamar resident wrote: "We are attached to the TV to follow what's going on and praying that the storm will pass with no more casualties. Sending our hugs to you all."

Partnership 2Gether is supported through the Jewish Federation of Delaware's Annual Campaign.

Thanks to our local agencies and our National and International partners, the Annual Campaign is able to provide critical social services and programs in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, in Israel and around the world.

The mission of the Jewish Federation of Delaware is to mobilize the Jewish community to address issues, meet needs and build an agenda for the future.
Our vision is to bring people together into a community coalition, grounded in Jewish teachings and heritage, to strengthen the State of Israel, the global Jewish family and local organizations in order to further the survival of the Jewish people.
