Greetings!

The Egyptian political revolution is spreading across the Arab world this week, now engulfing Bahrain, Iran, Yemen and Libya.  A dark side to the democratic impulse continues to be felt, however, with Hezbollah in Lebanon making new threats; Iran sending warships through Suez past Israel; a Jordanian official calling Israel an "enemy" and Tunisia's Jews feeling threatened. Meanwhile, Israel's army considers a new multi-front battle a real possibility.

Please see the story below for links and additional updates. We will continue to keep our community informed of this evolving situation.

Shabbat Shalom.

One Book One Jewish CommunityCommunity Unity

It's no secret that the Jewish community has gathered to the aid of one another time and time again throughout history.  But who would guess that the Jewish community in 11th Century Spain would be able to extend their help all the way to Egypt for a family in trouble?
