Strengthening Families by Building Protective Factors.

The Five Protective Factors is a family-strengthening framework that can be used by social services and other disciplines who work with families. This evidence-based framework, developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy, is a preventive approach to reduce the likelihood of abuse and neglect at an early stage. You will learn how to identify the protective factors shown to impact abuse and neglect, practical ways to incorporate them into your agency's programming, and inspire families and communities to find and act on their strengths

Show Support for the Agency that Supports People with Diverse Abilities
October 14 from 4pm till the doors close, take your family to Hawes Farms and help give back to Rowell Family Empowerment. Look for our table. You'll see us before you enter the farm. Just grab a free coupon from us for each entrant into the farm, give them to Hawes' cashiers when you buy your tickets, and $4.50 per ticket will automatically be donated to RFENC. It's that easy! Howling optional.

Community Advisory Committee Open House.

October 11th 6-8 pm: CAC's Open House. Come learn about what CAC does. There will be an IPAD drawing for those in attendance. Meeting held at Redding RFENC office at 962 Maraglia St. 96002.
7th Annual FOCUS Film Festival.
October 12 & 13 in Chico
Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm in the Big Room at the Sierra Nevada Brewery. $5 admission. Thursday there will be several showings starting at      9:30 am at the El Rey Theatre in Chico. Social Security Benefits.

Oct 12 in Yuba City

Family SOUP presents this training on Social Security Benefits from 6-7:30pm at Yuba City Unified School District on 750 Palora Avenue in Yuba City. What are social security benefits? Who is eligible? How do you apply? Come and find the answers to these questions and more. To register or for more info call 751-1925.

16th Annual Recognition Celebration.
October 20 in Chico
Butte County Coordinating Council's 16th year celebrating People Who Make a Difference in the lives of others. Held at the Masonic Family Center from 5-8 pm. The tickets are $10 each and include a dinner buffet. Seating is limited. Contact Sarah May at 530-895-4029.

Thursday from 5 to 6:30pml! This is a wonderful opportunity for English and Spanish speakers to get together. There will be activities and lots of sharing. RFENC IEP Prep & 504 Training- Burney.

Educate Yourself! October 20
These trainings will take place at Fall River Joint Unified School District in the Conference Room located at 20375 Tamarack Ave. in Burney. Come learn about the IEP process, timelines, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and more! The IEP Prep Training will be from 9am - noon and the 504 Training will run from 1 -2:30pm.

The New Prevention Services: Working Together to Ensure Healthy Development for all Children.

 November 4, 2011 - 7:45 am -11:30 am-Sacramento, CA. 

The River Valley IDA Chapter has invited a panel of representatives from the WarmLine Family Resource Center, Alta Regional Center, and the Family Resource Center Network to talk about the new Prevention Resource and Referral Service. Also invited are representatives from infant development programs, infant mental health programs, and Early Head Start/Head Start to talk about the services they provide.
