Autism ribbonAutism Awareness Expo.

October 1 at Anderson River Park
It's a Saturday from 10am to 2pm and the park will be beautiful! This is an opportunity to meet and discover other local resources for children with autism spectrum disorders. There will be childrens' activities and lots of vendors. Stop by the Rowell Family Empowerment booth and get your bag while supplies last. This is going to be a BIG event! October 1st: CAC will have a booth at the Autism Expo at Anderson River park.
October 11th 6-8 pm: CAC's Open House. Come learn about what CAC does. There will be an IPAD drawing for those in attendance.

Inclusion Part II: It's All About Goals!

Thursday, September 29 from 6-8pm guest speaker Maggie Bame will discuss topics such as what to look for in IEP goals, alternatives to your neighborhood school, analyzing & formulating realistic expectations and more! There will be lots of things for the whole family including a corn maze, train rides, zip line, giant jump pillow, climbing wall, and so much more! Come out and support Rowell Family Empowerment. IEP Prep & 504 Training in Burney.

Educate Yourself!
These trainings will take place at Fall River Joint Unified School District in the Conference Room located at 20375 Tamarack Ave. in Burney on October 20, 2011. RSVP to (530) 226-5129 or 1-877-227-3471 if you'd like to attend. Space is limited and no childcare will be provided. Come learn about the IEP process, timelines, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and more! The IEP Prep Training will be from 9am - noon and the 504 Training will run from 1 -2:30pm.

Family SOUP presents "Play With Me."

Workshop in Yuba City
Family SOUP presents a parent and child workshop for children on the autism spectrum ages 2.5 to 6, using Floortime techniques. Mary Nunez will be the workshop facilitator. Classes start October 3. You've heard about the impact iPads are having on children with disabilities? Do you have questions about it? RFENC's own Shane Nurnberg has been a featured speaker on this topic for the Dept. of Developmental Disabilities, Office of Special Education Programs, the UC Davis MIND Institute and more.
