Effective 2/15/12, Principal will no longer require a treadmill stress test as a routine age and amount requirement. A resting EKG (electrocardiogram) will be a requirement instead of the treadmill. |

Unlocking Hidden Cash for your Clients
Is it possible that your clients are sitting on cash they never knew existed? If they over age 60 and have a Convertible Term Insurance Policy, they just might.
Let's face it, if a client of yours has a convertible term policy and they are over age 60, the chances of you converting that policy is highly improbable. In fact, according to industry statistics, 98% of all term policies lapse. That's because most term policies were put in place for a temporary need and once that need expires, the policy will likely lapse. Subsequently, all of the premiums paid to maintain that policy disappear after the last lapse notice is thrown into the trash.
Under a special agreement we have with Institutional Investors, that same policy can now be purchased and can reimburse the policyholder for an amount equal to the sum of the premiums paid and in some cases, they can be paid well in excess of those premiums paid.
So, if you have clients:
- That are Age 60 and older
- That have a convertible term policy
- That were originally issued at a Standard or better rate class
- That have had a negative change in health since that policy was issued
- That have policies with face amounts between $100k and $500k
There is an opportunity to have the policy evaluated to see if they qualify for this program. There are no reviews of medical records or a need for third party Life Expectancy Reports. In fact, with a simple questionnaire and brief phone interview, you can find out in as little as 72 hours if their policy qualifies.
This is a great way to get in front of some of your existing clients and possibly put some money in front of them that they never knew existed. This can possibly lead to new additional sales for you, but, most importantly, make your clients aware of a unique opportunity as their advisor.
Although there is no compensation paid to you for the "Cash for Term" transaction and the client receives all of the funds, you do make First Year Commission on the Term Conversion.
This is also available for term policies with face amounts over $500k, but for those transactions Medical Records and Life Expectancy Report s may be necessary.
This is a unique opportunity that is worth looking into.
