MISSIONS

Highlights and/or needs of current missions connected with EHBC.

Haiti Trip - A team of parents and students from Cazenovia will be traveling to Thibeau Haiti Dec. 26-31.  This is a joint venture between St. James Parish and EHBC.  The team includes Stuart and Torie Wright, Bruce and Jack Strong, Becky and Grace Wheeler, Shannon and Tess Richard and Bob Hood.  The team asks that you pray for the following:Haiti

  • Pray for spiritual growth of our team.
  • Pray that God would help us all confront and overcome our fears. Pray that God will fortify the bond between parents and children on this trip. Pray that our lives would be forever impacted by seeing how the least of God's children live.
  • Pray that God will strengthen our faith through this experience.
  • Pray that we would know how to express God's love for the residents of Thibeau and children in the Port au Prince Orphanage.
  • Pray for unity in our group.
  • Pray for our protection during the trip and a safe return.
  • Pray that this trip would serve as a lasting catalyst for building community and spreading Christ's love in Cazenovia.
Senegal Trip - The Senegal team arrived home late last week.  Their time in the village of Diadiane brought encouragement to the church and pastor.  The pastors and leaders are problem solving the challenges they have faced with the agricultural well.  The clinic saw many patients and they were able to have discussions about public health education.  The team was encouraged by the strength of the relationships that have continued to grow and develop.
More to follow next week.

Sudan - Pray for Dave and Billy Reed and the eye surgery team at the Duk Lost Boys Clinic in South Sudan.  They expect 250+ cataract patients in the next 10 days.  Pray for political stability in the region, strength and stamina for the surgery team, patients who receive eye surgery and spirit led conversations through out the week pointing to Christ and his love.

CNY Horn Of Africa Famine Relief

www.easternhills.org/go/famine

The ongoing drought in the Horn of Africa is the worst the region has seen in 60 years. Experts have even declared famine in Somalia. That hasn't happened anywhere in the world since the 1980s. And nearly 12 million people remain at risk. World Vision is working in this hard-hit region to provide emergency food, lifesaving medicine, drought-resistant seeds, and access to clean water. Thanks to generous grants, your gift will multiply five times to help World Vision rush critical aid to families who are struggling to survive.hornofafrica
