Featured Community Group
There is a Military Community Group starting up that we wanted to share with you... "My son went to Iraq as part of a Marine Corps Scout/Sniper(STA) platoon. That meant, he would go into the "fight" before the rest of the company to gather intelligence, gather high value targets (people, our government "wished" to "speak" to - the enemy) amongst other jobs. Our son returned to us but a very different young man. While we knew war can damage a person's soul, we would later learn that, while our son was completely the same in appearance, he had many issues which were invisible to us, creating what is now called, "The new Normal." Our son suffers from the signature wounds of this war, otherwise known as post traumatic stress syndrome and mild traumatic brain injury - PTSD & mTBI. Why am I sharing this with you? As a believer in Jesus Christ, the above findings dropped my husband & I to our knees. We were faced with the question of "Where was GOD" and "What does he want me to do with this?" And, "Is GOD still good?" I have watched my family struggle through all of these findings and suffer as we watch our son/brother navigate his "new" life. Many other families must walk this walk as well. We all function better as a community with like minded desires; while our family suffered thru this alone, the desire is that no other family do so. I am inviting any member of this body of believers to join me and some others as we pray for these families for strength and courage as they pursue their "new normal," military life, deployment, or transition into civilian life. Christ makes all things new; please join us as we share this truth with others." ~Cheri Caiella If you are interested in joining this CG or know someone who might be interested, please email Judi, judith.ehbc@gmail.com
