Cahaba Tractor Hosts Demo Day

Demo Day 1
A cold and blustery morning didn't stop enthusiastic commercial tractor dealers from trying out the latest light construction implements from one of the largest independent manufacturers. On Thursday, November 10, Cahaba Tractor hosted a Demo Day for Paladin Construction Group's Dealer Sales Training event.
About thirty regional commercial tractor dealers and company representatives attended the one-day demo and training session in McCalla, Alabama.

Demo Day 3
Five brand names within the Paladin Construction Group were showcased, including Bradco, FFC, Harley, McMillen and Sweepster. Company reps held informational and training sessions for the various implements, then allowed the dealers to test-drive the equipment. The day was focused on training for using the implements on Kubota tractors and skid steers. Alabama was chosen as an event site because of the many commercial dealers and farmers in the region.Demo Day 2

  Meet Our Staff...      Kenny McMurry
Whoever said life slows down after retirement hasn't met Kenny McMurry, better known as "Kenny Mac." Nearing retirement from 26 years with the fire department, Kenny shifted gears, so to speak, and turned his love of auto mechanical work into a new career. He was hired by Cahaba Tractor in 2003 as a mechanic and hasn't looked back. "I'm fortunate to be able to work with who I work for and the environment I work in," he said. "I enjoy coming to work. It's not just a job, it's a family."
Kenny handles equipment repair and service, as well as assembly, when needed. He attributes his love and knowledge of mechanics to his dad, who worked as a U.S. Steel mechanic, and by hands-on experience beginning at a young age. "The way I grew up working on cars and other machines, I figured somebody had to put this thing together the first time, so I sure can do it again!" he said laughing.

With all his expertise in mechanics, Kenny stands behind the Cahaba Tractor and Kubota names. "People come to Cahaba Tractor, because they are treated fairly and they know we have their best interest. We treat our customers the way we would want to be treated," he said. "The reputation we have at Cahaba Tractor is big and we sell a good product."

Away from the job, Kenny enjoys time with his family, hunting, fishing, and of course, working on cars. He and his wife, Michelle, share a mutual love of motorcycles, too. Both belong to motorcycle clubs: Michelle is a member of the Dixie Divas and Kenny is with the Iron Warriors-a law enforcement and fire personnel motorcycle club. "You've got to enjoy life," he said. "If you let stuff stop you from doing what you enjoy, you won't have a good life." Wise words from a man who has a "fix" for everything.

  Thanksgiving Stuffing

Young Billy was sitting in his grandmother's kitchen, watching her prepare the Thanksgiving meal.

"What are you doing?" Billy asked.

"Oh, I'm just stuffing the turkey," his grandmother replied.

"Wow, that's cool!" Billy said. "Are you going to hang it next to the deer?"
